PROBLEM STATEMENT

An average Indian household currently uses at least 20 to 30 litres of water per day
for hand washing dishes.

This causes several food residues like grease, oil, gravy, ketchup accumulate and
settle on the dishes more and later become difficult to wash with ease and sometimes
require HIGH amounts of liquid/solid soap thus increasing the amount of tap water
consumed and the quantity of pollutants that are added to it.

Halfwash is a sink attached compact and integrated mechanical attachment that


facilitates easy soaking and scrubbing and integrates seamlessly as an attachment
with all kinds of kitchen setups

and can solve the various problems of dishwashing in an environmentally friendly


way.

BENEFITS

The novelty of Halfwash lies in the following points:

·Since it is attached directly to the kitchen and adds a layer of effective soaking, it will
reduce greywater generation.

·Since it will be a retrofitting, it will require no major infrastructure modification.

·Since the dimensions do not exceed a 3 litre holding capacity it will be highly space
efficient.

·The device will use by 30-40% quantity of daily average water usage for dishwashing and
hence significantly reduce greywater generation.
MARKET OPPORTUNITY

The India Dishwashers Market size was valued at USD 55.98 Million in 2022 and the total
India Dishwashers Market revenue is expected to grow at a CAGR of 10.8 % from 2023 to
2029, reaching nearly USD 114.76 Million.

This gives an insight on the awaited opportunity to disrupt the dishwashing industry with
a new convenience product.
COMPARISON (WITH EXISTING SOLUTIONS)

The only solution that currently exists in the market to reduce effort and save the
water used in kitchen sinks are dishwashers. Here’s how Halfwash may provide
comparable benefits :

·The average water consumption of a dishwasher is 37 to 56 liters for general


dishwashers and 11 to 22 liters for highly energy efficient dishwashers. Halfwash can
reduce this consumption by 30 to 40% and thus solve a huge water problem.

·The space of a dishwasher is consumed by racks, fold down tines, cutlery baskets
and dividers and will totally consumes between 25 to 35 sq. ft of area or 12 to 16 cubic
feet.

·Electricity consumption in a dishwasher is high and can vary based on load size,
cycle selection, drying process.

we will have a fully comprehensive report for the same.
