Sara Pirro

Elementary Teacher & Educational Technology Specialist

50 Stevenson Place – Deer Park, NY 11729 – (631) 624-1708 – saraepirro@gmail.com

To Whom It May Concern:

It is with great enthusiasm that I forward my resume and letter of interest for the teaching position in your district.
I am certified in Childhood Education and Early Childhood Education, with anticipated certification as an
Educational Technology Specialist. My confidence, passion for learning, and creativity have allowed me to flourish
as an educator thus far, and I am eager to transition into a new role.

As listed on my resume, I taught 3rd Grade at Our Lady of Guadalupe in the Diocese of Rockville Centre for two
years and taught in the Massapequa School District as a Kindergarten Support Specialist and Substitute Teacher.
In addition, I have worked for the Deer Park School District this year as a technology teaching assistant. Over my
years of experience, I have demonstrated my ability to implement and differentiate individual, small-group, and
whole-class instruction, often praised for my reliability and responsibility as an active member of every school in
which I have taught. I am an extremely vibrant educator, striving to do what is best for every child and support
them in any way that I can. I have had the pleasure of working with general education, special education, and
English Language Learners (ELLs), which has provided me with a dynamic skillset that I am excited to share with
your hiring committee.

Inspired by innovation, I have been commended for generating curiosity within learners. In the classroom, I create
lessons that incorporate project-based learning and hands-on learning experiences. It is my ultimate goal to make
my students comfortable and happy. I want each and every student to feel like our classroom is their second home.
I take great pride in the atmosphere that I develop, recognizing how beneficial it is for a child when they feel valued
at school. I truly believe that all children can learn – we all learn differently, have different personalities, and are
comprised of different backgrounds, family situations, and different cultures. As a result of my time working with
small groups, I look at the whole child, taking into account all of their strengths, weaknesses, and interests. By
focusing on the individual, I can promote an engaging and positive learning environment for all, a place that
children want to come to every day.

A unique aspect of my application is my Master’s degree in Educational Technology. My background and talents
in educational technology allow me to look at education from a different perspective. This is especially relevant
within my most recent role working for the Instructional Technology Department at May Moore Elementary
School. I bring innovative strategies into the classroom that capture the attention of students. I strive to create
accessible, relatable, and equitable content, promoting global citizenship and 21st-century learning skills. I love to
collaborate with my colleagues to integrate technology into their lessons and activities. My experience would be an
asset to your school, as I am very open to learning new software and programs and turnkeying this knowledge back
to staff.

Connecting with a child is the most important aspect in guiding a student to achieve their fullest potential. My
consistent goal is to recognize the power of this connection as the foundation of any classroom structure. I would
love to work in your district and am confident that I would be an excellent fit for your staff, students, and
community. Thank you so much for reviewing my application and for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Sara Pirro
