JOB PURPOSE:
The Black Country & Marches Institute of Technology (IoT) delivers higher level
training programmes in manufacturing and construction to support local businesses. It
is now looking to expand its services, by opening up access to our specialist facilities
for the benefit of local SMEs through our Innovation Hub. We want to support local
employers as they look to innovate in their business or drive productivity, by offering
technical support in adoption of new engineering and manufacturing processes.
Main Duties:
2. Assist in conducting technical training sessions for local businesses and project
collaborators. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts in both oral
and written formats, tailoring explanations to the audience’s technical proficiency
to facilitate understanding and knowledge transfer.
Specific Duties:
7. Collaborate seamlessly with the Innovation Consultant and other team members,
fostering a cross-functional approach to project execution. Actively engage in
knowledge-sharing and contribute technical expertise to enhance overall project
outcomes.
10. Embed a customer-centric approach in service delivery, ensuring that the needs
and expectations of anyone receiving services are at the forefront of decision-
making processes.
11. Implement rigorous quality assurance measures to guarantee that services meet or
exceed customer expectations. Regularly assess and enhance service delivery
processes to ensure ongoing improvement and customer satisfaction.

- To perform services not only for the college but also for any subsidiary as
required.
- To take responsibility to ensure that all students are safe and feel safe in the
college environment and to follow all safeguarding and prevent policies and
procedures.
- To contribute promotional activities both inside and outside the college and to
assist in the production of promotional and publicity materials as required.
- To be aware of and work with due regard to safety and safe practice. To meet
statutory requirements and to report any hazards / unsafe practices or incidents
as appropriate.
- To carry out any other duties in connection with the appointment which may
be reasonably determined from time to time by the Chief Executive and
Principal or line manager.

Formal Qualifications
1. A degree, higher diploma or equivalent App Form
qualification.
2. GCSE A* - C in English and maths (grades 9-4) App Form
or
equivalent.
Experience
1. A minimum of 5 years’ experience of working App Form
within engineering or manufacturing sector.
2. Experience in supporting or training others to use App Form/int
engineering equipment.
3. Experience of providing technical support to App Form/Int
businesses in adoption of manufacturing
technologies.
