degrees that compare one thing to another.

The three degrees of adjectives are positive,

comparative and superlative. Positive degree is the
simplest form of adjective. The comparative degrees are
used to compare between two subjects or objects while
superlative used to compare more subjects or objects.
Regular forms for one and two syllable words:

 positive - no change
(big, strong, long, etc.)
 comparative – words end in “ er ”
(bigger, stronger, longer, etc.)
 superlative – words end in “est”
(biggest, strongest, longest, etc.)

Regular forms for three or more syllable words:

 positive - no change
(understandable, comfortable,
intelligent, etc.)
 comparative – use “more”
(more understandable, more comfortable, more
intelligent etc.)
 superlative – use “most”

intelligent etc.)

If the adjective has a CVC Pattern double the consonant

and add - er in comparative degree. And add - est in
superlative degree.
