New Gyrosphere Container Mod.10/4 with stock number
025953-0000-000

Description: Introduction of the Mod.10/4 container for NAVIGAT 100 and

NAVIGAT 200 Gyrocompasses

This Service Bulletin provides information on the release of the new Gyrosphere
container Mod.10/4 and how to install it into NAVIGAT 100 and 200 Gyrocompasses.
It can be used with the current HG-free Gyrospheres Type 5000 with stock numbers
074829-0000-000 (normal Type) and 074831-0000-000 (HSC Type).

The new Mod.10/4 container has camera based optical pick up technology to
determine the Gyrosphere position in the container.
Since this new technology communicates via serial data with the NG100/200 main
PCB, a software update to Version 1.130 or higher is required. Also the positon of the
red 4-core baseplate cable needs to be set from J3 (analog) to J4 (digital) on the
main PCB. Additionally the 3rd switch S3 of the DIP switch on the main PCB needs to
be set to ON (up) position.

The new Mod.10/4 container requires the use of a new supporting liquid with
Stock number 044810-0000-000 which can be easy identified by a green label on
the bottle.

Very important: Do not remove the camera module PCB with the silver metal
housing from the container-assembly as this is precisely aligned during
production.

1. To prepare a NG100 or NG200 for operation with the mod 10/4 container the
main PCB software for CCU and CSU needs to be updated to Version 1.130
or higher. For NAVIGAT 200 CompassNet systems also all other units, DDU
processors, NAVITWIN V, and CAUs within a system need to be updated to
1.130 or higher. The software is part of the SUSI zip file which is available on
Extranet. click here

2. When all updates have been done successful, switch off the gyrocompass by
disconnecting TB1 and TB2 of the main PCB

3. Set the plug from J3 (gyro analog) J4 (gyro digital) and the dip switch S3 to
ON (up) position

5. Correct Jumper setting on the Mod.10/4 container processor PCB

for operation in NAVIGAT 100/200 (lower setting NAVIGAT)

Finally the new Mod.10/4 container is to be assembled as known from the Mod.10/3
container and to be filled with new supporting liquid with the green label.

After the new container has been fitted and connected correctly, power up the
Gyrocompass. If after 5 minutes of operation still no heading value is indicated at the
display unit and the container did not perform turns to align with the sphere, perform
a power cycle and check again.
