Day 02 - Community Visit

TIMELINE OF ACTIVITIES

DATE ACTIVITY/TASKS
March 16, 2024 On this sunny day, we were given another new
activity or task by our instructor, Mr. Roseller V.
Reginan Jr. During the third community visit, our
instructor instructed us to conduct a community
dialogue within the purok area where we are
assigned within our teams. Each team has a task to
gather information or do some brainstorming on how
to execute the task since it is impossible to conduct
the community dialogue right away within that day,
or we will go to the purok area where we are
assigned and inform the purok leaders or other
residents within the purok on what our aim is to
propose in their community. Especially when we
conduct the task, each team must provide
documentation. After the said instructions, the whole
CWTS students were gathered in the lobby of the
Andres Bonifacio Gymnasium/Civic Center for the
checking of attendance before leaving the school’s
campus. After checking the attendance, Team
Temperance gathered for brainstorming on how to
execute the task. Afterwards, we decided to proceed
to the purok area, where we were assigned to inform
the purok leader first of our purpose in their area.
We finally reach the said destination, Purok One
Heart, Sta. Isabel, Dipolog City, Zamboanga del
Norte, at exactly 9:24 a.m. The team automatically
talks with one of the Purok officials, which is the
Vice President of the Purok One Heart, since the
President was not around at that time. Mr. Duterte is
the vice president of Purok One Heart. We
immediately told the Vice President what our
purpose was for that day and that, if possible, we
could conduct a community dialogue in their area
because it was one of the requirements of our
instructor. Mr. Duterte replied to us that, before we
could conduct a community dialogue in their area,
we must have a meeting first with the ward officials
in order to do so. We immediately agreed with what
the vice president was saying and asked when that
meeting could be held. He immediately responded
that it will happen this coming Sunday, March 24,
2024, at 1 p.m. It was meant to be held on that day
because, on that day, all the officers were in their
homes. So, we decided to actually agree on that day
for the meeting. Afterwards, the vice president told
us that we could talk to his fellow officer, who is
also a member of the pantawid, which is Mrs. Gema
Abellana, and inform her of our purpose in their
area. Because it can help us inform their place that
we have an activity to do. Mr. Duterte only allowed
Sangoan (the team leader), Sumiwan, and Duga
Duga (the documentarian) to go and lead the way to
Mrs. Abellana's residence. Some of the other
members we’re left in Mr. Duterte’s residence.
When we finally got there, Mrs. Abellana
automatically responded and welcomed us to their
home. Afterwards, Mr. Duterte told her what our
purpose was and why we were in their place. After
that, we started to introduce ourselves and started to
discuss our project that we would propose to their
community. And we also ask several questions with
regards to their concerns and whether our project
could be helpful to them. Mrs. Abellana responded
immediately that our proposed project is a great help
to them because one of their main problems within
their community is the disposal of garbage. She also
shared with us her experiences at their home, saying
that she would properly segregate their garbage. Mr.
Duterte and Mrs. Abellana concluded that their main
problem in their community is the disposal of
garbage because some of the other areas would put
their garbage in the place they would throw it. After
the said information, the team is actually glad that
their proposed project is a great help to the Purok
One Heart Community, in order to at least help them
to have proper waste disposal. After the session, Mr.
Duterte and Mrs. Abellana agreed that we can
conduct a community dialogue in their area this
coming Saturday, March 23, 2024, at exactly 1 p.m.
So, there will be no meeting with the other ward
officials this coming Sunday. Mrs. Abellana also
told us that, she will be the one to inform the
residents within their purok area that there will be an
activity this coming Saturday. After that, we said
goodbye and thanked Mrs. Abellana for
accommodating us. Afterwards, we returned to the
house of Mr. Duterte where the other team members
that was left there. And we immediately thanked and
bid our goodbye to Mr. Duterte for also
accommodating us and helped us to achieved our
goal that day. At exactly 10:47 a.m., we we’re
heading back towards the school’s campus for
another checking of attendance. While going back to
the school’s campus, we immediately discuss on
what would be our next move and activity in the
Purok One Heart Community. In addition, there
were no conflicts or misunderstandings during that
day, and everyone was back safe at the school's
campus.
