Blog Journal #1

Over the period during the past weeks, I have started on my capstone project. I have created a TikTok
account with five baking entertainment videos and gained nine followers in time. I have created videos
on Pinterest cookies, chocolate miffy cookies, chocolate chip miffy cookies, bear churros, and rice
crispies. My best TikTok (chocolate chip) received 5,593 views with 500 likes. My least favorable TikTok
(Pinterest cookies) received 124 views with 6 likes.

In the next two weeks ahead of time, I will need to equip matcha powder for my next entertainment
video; I will be making matcha cookies. When creating this video, I will keep in mind short clips,
hashtags, and the time of posting. TikTok has an overwhelming obstacle to reaching the right audience.
The first few people viewing my video are the most important people in the process of engagement.
They determine whether my TikTok will go down or blow up. This is why short clips are important for
attentive watching, otherwise the long clips will reach boredom and become skipped resulting in the
downhill of flopping. My first two videos received only 124 views because the clips in the video were too
long. The audience does not want to watch the mixing of ingredients for 5 seconds because it is too long.
TikTok is an app for short mini clips put together to result in a fun engagement. My third video resulted
in 5,593 views because my clips were shorter. Moving forward I am going to try my best to reach more
viewers by applying the core competencies of creative thinking (filming my videos in a way that will look
good, background, lighting, etc.), communicating (presenting my videos in a way that will benefit the
audience to the maximum, correct recipe), and personal awareness with responsibility (being
productive, keeping track of time, ingredients, & equipment needed).
