Answer the following:

1. Research for the different IT Current trends that are using in the following field:
a. Education
During the pandemic, Information Technology (IT) played a crucial role in the
sector of education. With face-to-face classes being halted to adhere to safety
health protocols, E-learning became important to bring education across
students regardless of distance. According to Lutkevich (2022), E-learning
(sometimes referred to as web-based training) is anywhere, anytime instruction
delivered over the internet to browser-equipped learners. For instance, online
meeting platforms such as Google Meet, Zoom, and MS Teams became widely
used to conduct online classes that simulated synchronous and interactive
learning similar to a face-to-face setup. In addition, software applications such as
Canvas by Instructure and Google Classroom also served as Learning
Management System (LMS) to deliver educational content in an online setting.
These include modules, syllabus, quizzes and assessments, and homework
assignments that can be submitted online. Through E-learning and IT, studying
became more flexible and allowed education to adapt to circumstances that
might hinder its delivery. Its impact is undeniable, especially that gadgets like
computers, laptops, and cell phones are very prevalent in society nowadays.
b. Medicine
Information Technology (IT) also made significant contributions to the field of
medicine. Through it, the provision of healthcare services became more efficient
and brought convenience both to patients and health workers. An example of a
current IT trend applied to this sector is Human Augmentation Technology that
increases human productivity. It can restore the human body or mental
capabilities through improving experiences in both cognitive and physical ways.
Naked Prosthetics is one example of Human Augmentation, which creates
custom hand prosthetics for individuals who have had their fingers amputated.
In addition, Cochlear Implants are also human augmentation technology that
restores hearing without requiring an external hearing device to be worn.
Overall, IT has allowed the medicine industry to flourish and by maximizing its
potential, the patients can be given holistic treatments that aim for their
betterment. Human Augmentation is just one of the many current IT trends used
in the medicine field, and it goes to show how IT partakes in important roles in
improving society.
c. Business
In Business, it is necessary to increase the efficiency of systems, products, and
services. This is what Information Technology (IT) contributes to this sector – it
helps track and streamline processes, maintain data flow, and manage contacts
and employee records. Currently, one of the IT trends used in the business
sector is Augmented Analytics. Machine learning and natural language
processing techniques are integrated into data analytics platforms to aid or
automate analytical activities such as data preparation, insight production, and
data visualization. As a result, enhanced analytics allows a larger spectrum of
people to gain valuable insights from data without having advanced technical
knowledge. In simple terms, data analytics allows easier understanding and
interpretation of data by using machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Through this, a business can make better decisions, increase the efficiency of the
work, and improve the quality of products and services. Data Analytics is just one
of the many current IT trends applied in business, and it is certainly conducive in
upscaling the performance of organizations.
d. Media
Throughout advancements in technology, vast improvements have also been
made in the media. The terms ‘Information Technology’ and ‘Media’ are always
interconnected because they coexist and function together in order to relay
information. One of the most prominent trends in media is the use of
Augmented Reality (AR). AR is an enhanced version of the real physical world
that is achieved through the use of digital visual elements, sound, or other
sensory stimuli and delivered via technology. In the gaming and entertainment
industry, AR is used to give media users and gamers a more immersive
experience of the dimension viewed using this technology. For instance, horror
games and simulations use this to enhance the suspense and thrill that the game
induces to its players in comparison to more conventional play styles using PSP
or Desktops. In other occasions, AR is also used by some famous attractions in
social media to give tourists and media users an opportunity to ‘virtually roam’
their areas without having to be physically present in the said place. AR has been
prevalent due to its inventive, eye-catching, and interactive approach of
presenting information through media.
