plastering both indoors and outdoors, in combination with preformed G.F.R.P. (Glass Fiber Reinforced
Polymer) mesh impregnated with thermo-curing resins, as well as with Ri-Struttura and Reticola
reinforcement systems.
Thanks to its porosity, compatibility, and breathability, it ensures the maintenance of the thermo-
hygrometric balance of masonry, adhering to the principles of sustainable building practices.
It's suitable for application on new building facades as well as historical and traditional masonry
structures

EPOCA CALCE - NHL THERMIC 800 can be applied by hand for localised applications after mixing with
a whisk mixer or by means of a plastering machine for premixed products.

Component of RI-STRUTTURA C.R.M. (Composite Reinforced Mortar) System, qualified with ETA-19/0004,
according to a specific EAD, issued on 28 Feb 2019(1) and RETICOLA System.

METHOD OF USE

PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE

The substrate must be consistent, clean and free of friable parts, dust and salt efflorescence. Otherwise,
remove all parts and substances that may affect the adhesion of the product. Perform cleaning wash
with water. Any cracks and cavities in the substrate must be filled before application. Before application,
wet the substrate until saturation and then remove any excess free water. The substrate must be
“saturated with dry surface”.

PREPARATION O THE MIXTURE – MANUAL MIXING

Batch preparation can be done with an electric mixer with a low-speed whisk.
Place approx. 6.5 - 7.0 litres of water in a basin and gradually pour in the powdered mortar contained in
the 25 kg bag.
Mix for about 3 minutes with the mixer and add the remaining water (max. 7.5 litres per bag - 30%) until
the right consistency of the mixture is reached.

MANUAL APPLICATION OF MORTAR

Apply EPOCA CALCE NHL THERMIC 800 mortar to the previously prepared substrate, always starting from
the bottom.
Then proceed upwards with a rendering straightedge to make the surfaces flat.
Thicknesses will vary from a minimum of 10 mm to a maximum of 25 mm per layer.

BATCH PREPARATION- MECHANICAL MIXING

For mechanical mixing, plastering machines such as TURBOSOL's PFT G4, GIOTTO or other machines with
similar characteristics can be used.
It is always advisable to carry out preliminary tests by adopting the best configuration of the mixing-
spraying machine.
It should have a certain operating margin on power available, in order to allow the material to be
processed with the correct consistency and transported to the desired distance from the mixing point to
the point of application.
In this sense, is always recommended to observe the following indications:
- a machine powered with three-phase current is always preferable;
- use type D8 -1.5 lung and screw ;
- appropriately choose the use of the "turbo" function, if necessary;
- if available, use the accessories specifically intended for lightweight mortars;
- always prefer wide-bladed mixers and larger diameter conveying pipes (possibly 35 - 45 mm
external diameter);
- never exceed a 20 bar pressure.
However, it is best to seek advice from the manufacturers or rental companies of plastering machines on
the most suitable machine configurations.
Always ask a qualified technician or a representative of the plastering machine manufacturer to be
present on starting up the plastering machine on the first day of production.

PRODUCT USE
Always saturate the pipe with a slurry of water and cement or premixed mortar every time the plastering
machine starts or restarts;

In order to avoid problems with the stability of fresh material on vertical surfaces, EPOCA CALCE NHL
THERMIC 800 plaster shall be applied from the bottom upwards in two layers: the first layer will cover the
F.R.P. mesh and the second one will be applied after 24 hours and will act as a finishing plaster.

The overall thickness will be between 20 and 50 mm.

To ensure an adequate curing of plaster, especially when the application surface is exposed to direct
sunlight or wind, spray water during the first 48 hours

Follow the Fibre Net system instructions, ensuring that the mesh is embedded in the centre of the plaster
layer thickness.
Always apply EPOCA CALCE NHL THERMIC 800 mortar using a rendering straight edge in order to obtain
plane and smooth surfaces
Absolutely avoid adding water to make up for difficulties in mixing, pumping and/or transporting.
It is possible, once the product has fully matured, to apply EPOCA CALCE RASO NHL - NHL 105, an eco-
compatible pre-mixed smoothing mortar based on natural hydraulic lime NHL 3,5.

SAFTY INSTRUCTIONS

Wear protective clothing and gloves, goggles and dust masks during handling and application. In case
of contact with skin, wash with soap and water. In case of contact with the eyes, wash with water and if
irritation persists, seek medical attention. For safety information and for product use and storage, the user
should refer to the latest Safety Data Sheet.

WARNINGS

Do not apply at ambient and substrate temperatures below +5 °C or above +35 °C.
Do not add cement, lime or aggregates.
Wet substrates in hot weather.
Protect mortars from frost, high temperatures, excessive sunlight and wind during the curing period. Store
in a dry place.
