LESSON PLAN IN AGRI-FISHERY ARTS

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the discussion, the students will be able to:

1. Identify fertilizers based on kinds;

2. To differentiate organic and inorganic fertilizer and;
3. To perform making organic fertilizer.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

1. Agricultural Crop Production

CONCOCTIONS as ORGANIC FERTILIZER
2. Learning Competencies
3. CBC Horticulture, Conduct Pre-Horticultural Farm Operations

III. PROCEDURE

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. Preliminary Activity

Good morning Class! Good morning Ma’am! Good morning

Everybody stand up! classmates!

Anyone who will lead the prayer?

Ma’am!
Okay Thea, you may lead the prayer.
“Let us pray…in the name of the Father and
Before you take your seats kindly pick up the the Son and the Holy Spirit… Amen!
trashes you can see inside the classroom and
put it in the trash bin. Yes Ma’am!
Who is absent today? (Everyone is already seated)

I guess you are excited about our topic for No one is absent Ma’am!
today but before we go on, let us have a short
review first about what we have tackled (Students trying to recall)
yesterday.

Can anybody give a brief recall of our lesson (One student raises her hand)
yesterday?

We discussed about Types of Weeds, Ma’am!

Very good! We have discussed about the (Students attentively listen)
different Types and the Harmful Effects and
Some Beneficial Effects of Weeds.

B. LESSON PROPER

a. Motivation
(Students are excited to see the puzzle)
Okay class, I will provide you a puzzle game
and guess the jumbled letters!
Yes Ma’am!
Are you ready? Okay let’s start!

IONSTCCOCON CONCOCTIONS

ZFREIRETLI FERTILIZER

Before we proceed with our lesson for today

let us define some terms that we are going to
use in these activity.

Concoctions Replacement of chemical based fertilizer,

pesticides, fungicides, repellants, chemical
based growth enhancers and other synthetic
food ingredients for animals and plants.
Molasses
Thick dark to light brown syrup that is
separated from raw sugar in sugar
Fermentation manufacture.

The chemical breakdown of a substance by

bacteria, yeast or other microorganisms,
typically involving effervescence and the
giving of heat in which sugar converted to
ethyl alcohol
b. Activity
Define the following:
Any materials used to add to the fertility of the
soil in order to increase the growth or yield of
Fertilizer crops

The practice of applying fertilizers to crops

Fertilization through the soil or through the leaves of the
plants.

Fertile Soil It contains the most of the essential elements

needed for plant growth.

What will happen to the soil with With continuous usage, may cause the soil to
continuous usage of inorganic fertilizer? become acidic, compacted, soil
erosion/eroded/leached, poisoned and lifeless

How are we going to save the soil? Avoid using inorganic fertilizer instead use
organic
So class, what are the organic fertilizers
that you know? Fermented plant juice (FPJ)

How to prepare Fermented Plant Juice Fish Amino Acid (FAA)

(FPJ)?
Indigenous microorganisms (IMO)
Materials – 1:2

1kg kangkong
1kg kamote tops/leguminous plants
1 kg banana stalks
1.5 kg molasses

Procedure:

1. Clean and wash plants.

2. Drain for 5 minutes
3. Slice to an inch size
4. Mix all plants and molasses
thoroughly in a plastic pail (20 litter
capacity)
5. Put nylon screen on top of the mixture
6. Put 5 to 8 pieces 25 to 50 grams stone
on top of the nylon screen;
7. Cover with manila paper and add label
and ferment for ff days;
8. Extract the liquid and keep it in a
plastic container
Usage:

1. For plants, as natural growth enhancer,

nitrogen fertilizer
2. For animals, as natural growth
enhancer, by mixing to drinking water
Dosage:

2tbsp./liter of water
Spray or drench 1 to 2 times a week
Total fermentation days; ff. days

c. Analysis

Briefly explain the process on making

concoctions as fertilizer to maximize their
efficiency and effectiveness.

d. Abstraction

Present the output in class per group in the

specific concept and ideas on the activity.

e. Application

The class is going to divide into 2 groups for

this activity then explain the process /give a
brief summary and generalization about the
topic.

After performing the activity the class will Group 1 – FPJ

label the product like this: Kangkong and kakawate leaves

Name: Fermented Plant Juice (FPJ) Group 2 – FPJ

Date Prepared: 00/00/0000 Kakawate leaves and banana stalks
Date of Harvest: 00/00/0000

IV. EVALUATION

Performance Task (Group Activity)

Criteria:

Process Skills 50%

Time Management 20%

Cooperation and Teamwork 20%

Neatness and Orderliness 10%

100%

V. ASSIGNMENT

Research the different methods of fertilizer application:

1. Broadcasting
2. Side dressing
3. Band or raw localized placements
4. Foliar application
