A. CONTENT The learners demonstrate an understanding of Factors affect climate ,and the
STANDARDS effects of changing climate and how to adapt accordingly.
B. PERFORMANCE The learner participates in activities that reduce risks and lessen effects of
STANDARDS climate change .
C. LEARNING Describe certain climatic phenomena that occur on a global level.
COMPETENCY/CODE (S9ES-IIIf-31)
I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
Explain how greenhouse gases trap heat.
Demonstrate how closed spaces trap heat.
Aware about the effect of greenhouse gasses.
EXPLORE Students will perform the activity into two groups. Each group will choose
D.Discussing new their reporter and present their work. And they will be given 10 minutes to finish
concepts and their task.
Practicing new skills # Group I. Instruction: Observe the video presentation carefully and answer the
1 following question.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FfZe16LkJg
The students will answer the following questions
1. Compare the temperature of the two jar. Which of the jar has the highest
temperature?
2. What happen to the temperature of a jar with CO2?
3. How do you relate the(temperature of a jar with carbon dioxide to our planet?
4. What traps the heat referring to the two jars, how about in our planet?
Answers:
1. A jar with CO2
2. The temperature of a jar with CO2 rises faster compare to the wit out CO2.
3. Just like the jar our planet is also filled with CO2 and other greenhouse
gasses contributing to the increase of temperature.
4. In the jar cover serves as a block the heat to escape, I our planet its called
atmosphere.
Group II. Read and analyze the given reading materials and complete the Frayer
Model.
Answer:
E.Discussing new
concepts and Practicing The Greenhouse Effect
new skills # 2
The greenhouse effect is the process through which heat
is trapped near Earth's surface by substances known as
'greenhouse gases.' Imagine these gases as a cozy
blanket enveloping our planet, helping to maintain a
warmer temperature than it would have.
Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs)
nitrous oxide(N2O)
methane (CH4)
ozone (O3)
