Note Taking

You will take notes from a lecture and submit it to your teacher. Your teacher will inform
you when the lecture will take place.

Your final notes and all draft notes must be submitted at the end of the lecture. You
will have extra time to edit your notes.

Task – 25 Marks

Unit 3 covers how to take notes and your assignment should reflect the new skills you
have learnt. You will need to show that you can select appropriate methods to take notes
and use these methods correctly.

You will need to:

Take Notes

• Select appropriate ways to write your notes.


• Record all important information.
• Write the subject name, title, and the date.
• Structure your notes clearly and use neat handwriting.

Edit your notes

• Correct mistakes
• Add information.
• Remove irrelevant information.
• Structure your notes – use coloured pens and highlighters to show key points.
• Make sure your notes are easy to read and understand.
You must not use correction fluid or white-out – you will be marked on your ability to
correct mistakes and markers need to see where you have made alterations.
