COURSE / SECTION: CWTS102 – A8
ACTIVITY TITLE: Case Analysis
CASE STORY TITLE: The Children of Sitio Mabolon

Conflict Identification
The immune system's ability to fend off sickness while reducing its vulnerability to diseases
heavily depends on maintaining a balanced diet. However, in Sitio Mabolon, a remote area far
from urban centers, accessing adequate nutrition and healthcare is a daily struggle due to limited
support from public institutions. The residents, grappling with poverty, face immense challenges
in securing essential supplies like crops, food, and medicines. Government social services play a
crucial role in assisting the impoverished population, preventing starvation, suffering, and
potentially even more dire consequences such as theft and escalated criminal activities if left
unaddressed.
Plan of Action
Engaging in outreach endeavors promises significant benefits for the folks of Sitio Mabolon.
However, it's imperative for individuals to actively spread awareness, rallying volunteers, and
garnering funds for noble causes. With the dedicated support of volunteers, we can strive
towards fostering equality within our community. Leveraging government services, which are
accessible to all, Sitio Mabolon can reclaim its community's authority. Simultaneously, by offering
complimentary medical check-ups, we address pressing health issues, bridging the structural
divides within our city.
Reflection
Realizing the privilege I have in meeting my basic needs and goals without immense effort, I've
been struck by the contrast between my life and those in places like Sitio Mabolon, where
residents can only afford to eat once a day. It's a stark reminder of the disparities that exist in the
world. While I'm grateful for my circumstances, it's also a call to action to be more mindful and
empathetic. I'm learning to find contentment with what I have while also recognizing the need to
contribute to making the world a more equitable place.
