RF CHANNEL PLAN FOR CDMA

Cellular Band
The 1.23 MHz bandwidth for a CDMA channel suggests that the minimum center frequency
separation between center frequencies is 1.23 MHz. The valid CDMA center frequencies are on
AMPS channel numbers 1013-1023, 1-311, 356-644, 689-694, and 739-777. This is shown in the
table below. Only the primary and secondary center frequencies are fixed. Each system operator
is free to choose other center frequencies.

Note: There are 21 duplex "analog" control channels for each system. CDMA center
frequencies are not allowed in this region.
System A: N = 313, ... 333
System B: N = 334, ... 354

The formulas below allow calculation of the center frequency for a specific channel number on
the uplink (mobile) and downlink (base station).
Uplink: [0.03 N + 825] MHz N = 1, 2 ... 799
[0.03 (N-1023) + 825] MHz N = 991, 992, ... 1023
Downlink [0.03 N + 870] MHz N = 1, 2 ... 799
[0.03 (N -1023) + 870] MHz N = 991, 992, ... 1023
