Since advent of DDU Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur as the first university

under the state legislature of Uttar Pradesh post-Independence, has vision to provide
quality education and act as a rostrum for scientific research, and a mission to develop
human potential to its greatest degree. The university has already established itself as
one ofthe top universities in basic sciences and humanities, but that is just the tip of the
iceberg compared to the huge initiatives and progress the university is making in recent
years. The university has grown as a banyan tree into a multi-disciplinary university
offering varied, innovative, and professional courses in emerging areas. The Faculty of
Engineering and Technology, DDUGU is one of these sincere efforts to establish the
vantage position of the university as the top multi-disciplinary university of India.
The Institute of Engineering and Technology is situated in the heart of 191 acres
pristine- land DDUGU university campus with advanced infrastructure-facilities. It is
operational from its very first academic session, 2021-22, with B.Tech. programs in four
branches – Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and
Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The institute is committed to
enrich its faculty strength and quality in all areas of engineering and technology via
fetching and recruiting scholars from all over the world. To enhance the quality of
technical education and its expansion towards industry relevance, we have introduced
the newly designed curriculum which is based on the principle of more hands-on
experience with strong fundamentals offering, more choices to the students and imbibing
social and national commitments in them.
We have made a stunning beginning but there is a long way to go but I am sure,
with theactive cooperation of all our stakeholders, students, faculty, staff, employees,
collaborators, parents of the students, governmental organizations, media and public at
large, we will be able to fulfill the motto of DDU Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur- "आ नो

It is a pleasure to welcome students to the Institute of Engineering and Technology

at DDU Gorakhpur University. The university is re-establishing the faculty in its own
campus with the aim of providing quality education and atmosphere for technically
inclined students. Today engineers play a pivotal role in the development of social,
economic, and working environment. The institute aims to foster and encourage
engineering talent to innovate and pursue their interests. To prepare the students for
taking up rewarding careers in industry and community.
The university already has a strong strength of faculty members in science and
humanities. There is research going on in the interface of science and technology. Their
involvement is surely going to enrich the students’ basic understanding and provide
visions for future opportunities. We hope to develop among students’ confidence,
entrepreneurial skills, and motivation for professional competence.
The Institute of Engineering and Technology is offering B.Tech. programs in four
branches – Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and
Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The curriculum is at par with
national institutes of repute. The emphasis is on problem solving and experimental
training. There will be ample opportunity to take up interdisciplinary courses for
acquiring diversified knowledge and experience.

The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur established in 1957
by the Uttar Pradesh State Universities Act, in its long eventful journey has constantly
striven to live up to its motto, "आ नो भद्राः क्रतवो यन्तु ववश्वत:" (Let noble thoughts come to
me from all directions) by assimilating diverse ideas, people and beliefs into its academic
life. The geographical location of the University is 26°75’ N and 83°38’ E is the first one
to be established in Uttar Pradesh after Independence and named after the great political
thinker, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya is located in the holy city of Gorakhpur and
inherits the spiritual and philosophical legacy of Buddha, Kabir and Guru Gorakshnath.
Spread over 191.21 acres, it houses 06 faculties comprising of 29 departments that have
been playing a significant role in imparting holistic education to the people of the Eastern
region since its inception. With its cherished goal of nourishing creative talent and
scientific temper among its students and sensitizing them to larger socio-economic and
political realities, the University aspires to contributemeaningfully to regional, national,

Institute of Engineering and Technology is newly established faculty which

comes under the umbrella of its parent institution, DDU Gorakhpur University (DDUGU),
Gorakhpur with aim to produce skilled professionals, capable of meeting local and global
challenges in the field of engineering and technology. MMMUT (formerly known as
MMMEC) was affiliated with DDU Gorakhpur University up to 2000. When Uttar Pradesh
Technical University Lucknow (currently AKTU) was formed, MMMEC was affiliated with
UPTU. A vacuum was created as DDUGU had lost one of its Engineering College. To fill this
gap, Faculty of Engineering and Technology was started in the main campus of DDUGU
under self-finance scheme.
The main advantage for establishing Institute of Engineering and Technology
is availability of rich departments like Department of Physics (Established in 1958, the
Department maintains a high level of teaching and research in area of Astrophysics,
Biophysics, Electronics, Solid-State Physics, Spectroscopy, Computational material
science,Lasers etc. The department has sanctioned strength of 30 teachers), Department
of Chemistry (Established in 1956, the Department maintains a high level of teaching and
research in area of Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Soil
Chemistry, Spectroscopy, Enzyme Catalysis, Liquid Crystal Synthesis, etc. The department
has sanctioned strength of 32 teachers.), Department of Mathematics (Established in
1958, the Department maintains a high level of teaching and research in area of Functional
Analysis, Differential Manifolds, Operations Research, Biomathematics, Mathematical
Modelling, Wavelet Analysis, Fixed Point Theory, Fourier Analysis and Approximation

The Institute is offering the following B.Tech. programmes from 2021-22
academic year onwards after extensive research and buoyed by strong feedback from the
leading industries on the projected manpower demand in the following discipline and
promising employability potential of the graduates: B.Tech. in Computer Science and
Engineering (Intake 150), B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Intake
75), B.Tech. in InformationTechnology (Intake 150), B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering
(Intake 75). All the programmes of the faculty will run in a self-financing mode. The
curriculum and syllabi of all programmes are updated and implemented as per the AICTE,
New Delhi and NEP-2020 and passed by the competent bodies of the Deen Dayal
Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur.

Campus Life at Institute of Engineering and

Technology, DDUGU
The abundance of greenery in and around the campus is the most striking feature
of the University’s landscape. The University makes great efforts to maintain and
preserve its greenery and therefore, encourages and promotes green practices within the
campus. The University has a parking space for two-wheeler vehicles of students near the
entrance gate of the University that necessitates most students to go walking to their
respective departments. Moreover, the location of the different faculties within easy
walking distance of the main entrance gate does not cause much inconvenience to the
students. As the entry of vehicles is restricted to the premises, the entire campus becomes
pedestrian friendly. The University is committed to its goal of making the campus a
Plastic–free Zone.

There is a main textbook collection room CTBS (Central Textbook Section) in this
building from where the textbooks are distributed to the students of UG and PG level. The

Nehru Hall or the reading room is located on the ground floor, in which the student’s read
newspapers, magazines and various general books. Apart from this, there is also a Stack
section on the ground floor envisaged for teachers and research scholars.
There is a huge reference room on the first floor which is also known as Gandhi
Hall. Excellent reference books like dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Directories,
Bibliographies, Yearbooks, Almanacs, Gazetteers, guidebooks, maps, atlases, Handbooks,
manuals, and statistical sources etc. are placed here. There is also a research Journal
Section on this floor. Internet-equipped computers for teachers and researchers and
special Braille enabled computers to have also been installed for visually impaired people
in the library. A well-equipped Cyber Library is also being established for the teachers
and researchers. To ensure the availability of books to the teachers as well as students on
their personal computers and mobile phones the Remote Access facility has been
provided on the university website.
The Central Library provides different types of library services to its users which
include Reference, OPAC, Circulation, Reading, Photocopying, Membership, Internet
facilities for on-line access of e-resources and Plagiarism Detection.

Hostels
The University provides hostel facilities for boys and girls. The hostels are equipped
with facilities like internet, common rooms, separate TV and visitor’s room, playground,
etc.

Sports Facilities
The university promotes multi-dimensional growth with emphasis on integrated
physical and intellectual learning and training. The Athletic Association and Sport
Complex at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University is devoted to the practice and
training of indoor sports for example Judo, Yoga, Taekwondo and Table Tennis. The
academic activities of physical education are also included in the sports complex. Practice
in Basketball, Judo, Athletics, and football is regularly conducted with more than 100
participants. The University has produced a few players of international repute in Judo,
Athletics and Taekwondo who have represented India in reputed international
competitions and brought laurels for the University and the Nation.

Health Centre
The aim and objective of the Centre is to provide the proper medical facilities to
the students at the university. The Centre is equipped with a team of full-time and visiting
Medical Professionals. The Centre facility has a waiting hall with chairs, public utilities
like drinking water and toilets. Wheelchairs and attendants are there to help sick
patients. The University also has an ambulance stationed at the university campus.

Placement & Training Cell

DDU Gorakhpur University takes up it as a challenge to develop essential skills
and help our students have a job for livelihood. We take it as one of the primary
objectives of the Higher Educational Institution to equip the students and achieve
respectful employment. Keeping in line with this, we continuously strive to: Extend

International Cell
International Cell welcomes the international students wishing to join different
programmes of the University for Higher Studies. The Cell looks after the matter related
to admissions of International Students in terms of procedure, process, admission, and
related administration. The Cell also advises students on matters related to application,
admission, fees, arrival services and orientation. The International Cell is responsible to
provide all necessary help to international students regarding: How to choose course of
study, how to fill in the application form for admission, Course information, academic
qualifications, Orientation, Visa formalities, Accommodation/Hostels, Fees, and any other
issues. The Cell coordinates with the Ministry of External Affairs, different embassies and
consulates for various purposes including scholarships on behalf of the students. The Cell
also conducts student exchange programs and provides fellowship to international
students.

Incubation & Entrepreneurship Cell

The Incubation and Entrepreneurship Cell at DDU Gorakhpur University aims at
manifesting the latent entrepreneurial spirit of the students. Cell is keen to host various
workshops, speaker sessions, and seminars for aspiring entrepreneurs and support them
by providing necessary resources such as funding, mentoring, consultancy and
networking. The Cell targets to help in the development of India’s entrepreneurial
ecosystem by enabling easy and efficient interaction between its major components
spanning students, working professionals, and existing entrepreneurs. The Cell aims to
support start-ups in Agri-business, Food Processing, IT services, Waste Management, etc.
Cell has already launched Zero Waste Campus start-up under which the waste of the
campus is converted into Organic fertilizers and various other start-ups are in pipeline.

State of Art Computing Labs and Other Facilities

There are four modern computing labs in IET: Data Science Lab, Artificial
Intelligence and Machine Learning Lab, Cloud Computing and Internet of Things Lab &
Cyber Security and Digital Forensics Lab. All these labs are equipped with the latest
computing facilities, interactive display board, online power backup and high-speed
internet connectivity.
Besides the Central Library, IET has its own library with 3600 books. Every
classroom in IET is equipped with all modern digital facilities.

Admission
Engineering education requires expert knowledge and skills in respective
branches of engineering, whereas technology education requires broad based
fundamental knowledge of both science and engineering with analytical and innovative
skills. Quality Engineering education should inculcate broad foundation, depth of
knowledge and expertise in subject of specialization, including skills (Communication,
technical, analytical, and managerial etc.), humanism, social responsibility and business
aptitude instudents.
The admissions in different B.Tech. programs offered in Deen Dayal Upadhyaya
Gorakhpur University Gorakhpur in session 2024-25 shall be made as per follows.
Admission through DDUGU entrance-exam 2024-25 :
I. B.Tech. First Year

Admission through JEE MAIN-2024 conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA):

Admission in B.Tech. Second Year-Lateral Entry through CUET(UG)/CUET(PG) -
2024 (For Diploma Holder and B.Sc. Graduates)
(i) The eligible candidates seeking direct admission to second year of B.Tech. (for
engineering diploma holders) are required to submit the online application forms
for appearing in the specified test paper of CUET(UG)-2024 entrance test followed
by counseling to be conducted by DDUGU, Gorakhpur.
(ii) The eligible candidates seeking direct admission to second year of B.Tech. (for B.Sc.
graduates) are required to submit the online application forms for appearing in the
specified test paper of CUET(PG)-2024 entrance test followed by counseling to be
conducted by DDUGU, Gorakhpur.
(iii) The eligible candidates must have passed the qualifying examination from any
institution located in U.P. or whose parents are domicile of U.P subject to the
eligibility conditions. If the candidate has passed qualifying examination from
outside of U.P., he/she must produce domicile certificate of his/her parents
(father/mother only) at the time of document verification during the counselling.
(iv) Seats are limited to a maximum of 10% of the sanctioned intake on supernumerary
basis plus the lapsed seats of B. Tech.-1st year of previous academic session in
B.Tech. lateral entry programme.
(v) Provided further that, the candidates belonging to B.Sc. stream for B. Tech-2nd
(Lateral Entry) shall be considered only after filling the seats in this category
with the candidates belonging to the diploma stream.

B.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE):

B. Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering, which is a four-year professional
undergraduate program, was started in 2021. The Department is establishing several
laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art computing facilities to support the research
and teaching activities, especially in the areas of Data Science, Cloud Computing, IOT,
Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Cyber Security & Digital Forensic. The
department will also offer PG and Research courses in the coming years. The department's
distinguishing feature is its vibrant learning environment, in which all students and
faculty members cultivate the spirit of invention, creativity, and fruitful contribution to
the progress of technology.
The department offers sufficient opportunities for the students to grasp and
innovate. Students are motivated to take part in several activities like poster
presentations, technical events, project design contest and cultural activities. Students are
encouraged to go through training and various industrial visits are scheduled each year
to get industry exposure.

B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE):

B. Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering, which is a four-year
professional undergraduate program, was started in 2021. The Department was
established under the aegis of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology at DDU Gorakhpur
University, Gorakhpur.
The department's distinguishing feature is its vibrant learning environment, in which all
students and faculty members cultivate the spirit of invention, creativity, and fruitful
contribution to the progress of technology. The Department is establishing several
laboratories not only to serve the purpose of the curriculum but will also facilitate to
carryout of innovative research projects in the field of nanotechnology, RF/Microwave
communication, VLSI, IOT to fulfill the fast-changing needs of society. The department will
also plan to offer PG and Research courses in the coming years.
The department offers sufficient opportunities for the students to grasp and innovate.
Students are motivated to take part in several activities like paper presentations,
hardware exhibitions, technical quizzes, etc. to improve technical and soft skills of the
students.

B.Tech. in Information Technology (IT):

The Department of Information Technology of this University came into existence
with the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology in 2021. The
department will also offer PG and Research courses in the coming years.
The department aims to achieve national and international recognition through the
educational and research achievements of its students. The department is a center for
advanced studies, keeping pace with the latest in the rapidly changing environment of
information technology.
The department has dedicated and highly motivated faculty members who make all
effective efforts to prepare the students to be successful IT professionals making
significant contributions to the development and growth of our nation.

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering (ME):

Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) was established in 2021 under the
aegis of the Faculty of Engineering and technology at DDU Gorakhpur University,
Gorakhpur.
The department aims to provide sound technical knowledge and world class facilities to
students. Our aim is to give experience of various real life problems and their solving
technique to the student and to make them competent in research filed. So that they can
serve the nation with their full knowledge and can make a progressive society. Our
department has renowned and experience faculty members. They have published several
research papers in renowned national and international journals. They have years of
industrial experience too.
Our Department looks forward to contributing in solving the technological challenges of
the society with active participation from all sections of the society.

Eligibility Criteria
• For admission to B.Tech. First Year (First Semester), the candidate should have
passed the final examination of 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics or as notified.
• Eligibility for Admission in BTech-II (Lateral Entry)
a. Diploma holders: For admission to B.Tech. second year (Lateral Entry) in
third semester, candidate who have passed 3/4 year Diploma (With
Minimum 60% marks) from institution recognized by the U.P. Board of
Technical Education in any branch of Engineering/Technology except
Agriculture Engineering are eligible.

b. B.Sc. Graduates: Passed three years B.Sc. degree from any recognized
University of India as defined by UGC with at least 60% marks (55% in

exam with Mathematics as a subject.

• JEE Main-2024 qualified (Home state/Other state) and NRI candidates
• For Other state and NRI Candidates, 10% seats are reserved under
supernumerary quota. The fee structure for such students will be as notified.
• In all cases, the admission of an applicant to the B. Tech program requires that
the applicant has:
a. The minimum academic qualification as notified,
b. Fulfilled the prescribed admission procedure and paid the prescribed fees.

The Reservation policy in the admission to various programmes of the faculty will be as
perUttar Pradesh Government rules.

General Instructions and Admission Procedure

1. The details and admission procedure of all the programmes is available on the
University website www.ddugu.ac.in.
2. The eligible applicants can fill the online application form available on the website
for appearing in the Entrance Test 2024-25.
3. Applicants who qualify the Entrance Test and fulfill minimum required eligibility
criteria will be given provisional admission according to their ranks in the merit list
which is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Entrance Test, Weightage
marks and availability of the seats in conformity with the rules of reservation.
4. List of the provisionally qualified applicants will be made available on the university

website. Thereafter, applicants will have to appear before the Faculty/Departmental

Admission Committee with all their original documents. The concerned officials,
then, will complete the admission process. Thereafter, applicants will have to confirm
their admission by depositing their fee through Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card
etc. within the stipulated timeframe. They will have to get themselves registered in
the concerned Departments within three days from the time of their fee submission.
If they fail to submit their fee in time, their admission will be cancelled, and those
seats will be assigned to the applicants next in the merit list.
5. At the time of admission, the applicant himself/herself will have to produce all the
original documents (Mark Sheets, Caste Certificate, Weightage Certificate/Ex.
Serviceman/Dependent Freedom Fighter/Kashmiri Migrant/Kargil Martyr,
Handicapped Certificate, Transfer Certificate, Latest Character Certificate
issued by the last institution where he/she has received education, EWS
Certificate etc.) together with one set of self-attested photocopies of these before
the Admission Committee. Applicants who have passed their qualifying examination
as a private student will have to submit their certificates by getting them attested by
any teacher at the University or any Gazetted officer or any M.L.A. or M.P. Their
selection will be automatically cancelled if they do not produce the required
documents.
6. Applicants who have passed the qualifying examination prior to 2024, will have to
produce an affidavit stating reasons for their gap at the time of admission. The
Admission Committee will allow such an applicant after thorough verification of the
facts mentioned in the affidavit.
7. If any applicant fails to present himself/herself on the prescribed dates with all
his/her original documents, he/she will not be given any further chance.
8. Applicants will have to bring their Entrance Test Admit Card at the time of admission;
therefore, it is advised to keep the Admit Card safe.
9. It will be necessary for the selected applicants to get themselves registered in the
concerned Department after depositing the required fee before the prescribed date
otherwise their admission will be cancelled. An applicant will be considered a regular
student at the University from the time of his/her registration in the concerned
Department after the payment of the required fee.
10. Category, sub-category or weightage certificates issued by the competent authorities
will have to be produced in original at the time of admission. Alteration ofany sort, at
later stages, will not be permissible.
11. For the benefit of reservation, applicants will have to bring Caste and Income
certificates issued within the time period of three years from the date of admission.
12. Once admitted and having appeared/failed/intercepted is the examination of a
particular class in the University, a student shall not be readmitted. Having
appeared/failed students can appear as Ex-student.
13. Admission in any of the class of the University will not be permitted on the basis of
transfer from any College of the University or from any other University.
14. The University reserves the right to cancel or deny the admission of any applicant
without citing the reasons. It also reserves the right to make circumstantial changes
in the rules of the admission process in order to make it more convenient.
15. All the documents related to the Entrance Test will be preserved for a period of six
months from the date of Entrance Test.
16. Admission instructions are devised according to the University Act, Statutes and
Ordinances.

17. If any contingent situation arises at the time of admission, it will be sorted out
according to the decision of the Admission Committee.

83.4039116ᵒE at Globe i.e. in the middle of the Gorakhpur city. The Nearest Railway
station is Gorakhpur junction (GKP) distance from the campus is 2KM as well as the
nearest airport is at Mahayogi Gorakhnath International Airport (GOP), Gorakhpur which
is 7KM from the campus with all transport facilities towards the campus. The Climate of
