Product positioning is an important strategic policy for a product or brand. Knowing where the
product position is very helpful for the company to determine what actions to take in relation to
the product positioning strategy. This research on the position of palm cooking oil products was
carried out with the aim of knowing the position of the Filma brand of palm cooking oil products
compared to competing brands, namely Bimoli, Kunci Mas, Sania, Tropical, and Delima, based
on their attributes which include no cholesterol, contains vitamins needed by the body, clear
yellow in color, can maintain the taste of food, efficient in use and processed hygienically. The
data obtained from the respondents in this study were processed using the Biplot analysis
technique, which is an analysis used to perform positioning and perceptual mapping of a set of
objects. This analysis helps display the relative position between objects so that adjacent objects
will show similarities based on the observed attributes and the position of an object can be
recognized based on the dominance of its attributes. The Biplot analysis technique works through
several stages, namely preparing data, parsing singular values through factor analysis techniques,
generating row and column matrices, and finally plotting (perceptual mapping).

Filma Cooking Oil Quality

Filma and Bimoli cooking oil are two well-known brands of cooking oil that have been
circulating in the market for a long time. The two producers of palm cooking oil are also well
known. Filma is a product of Sinarmas (produced by PT Smart Tbk), while Bimoli is Special. On
the refill packaging for Bimoli Special cooking oil, the size of 2000 mL, it is stated that
"BIMOLI SPECIAL is made with Multi Process Purification. So it is clearer, heats up fast, and is
heat resistant." There are no sentences that advertise or highlight the content of Bimoli Special
