RATIONALE OF THE STUDY

Cendaña Dental Clinic serve as vital hubs for oral health maintenance and treatment,

providing a range of services from routine check-ups and cleanings to complex procedures such as

root canals and dental implants. Nevertheless, the clinic faces numerous challenges such as

difficulty in managing appointment schedules leading to long wait times for patients, inefficient

tracking of dental supplies leading to stockouts or overstocking. Manual data entry processes prone

to errors, leading to inaccuracies in patient records. Therefore, optimizing patient care delivery and

operational efficiency is essential for ensuring the sustainability, effectiveness, and competitiveness

of dental clinic.

The clinic continued use the traditional management system suggests an inability to

incorporate modern technologies. They face challenges that can significantly impact their

operations and patient care. In today's modern world, management systems have evolved

significantly, Cendaña Dental Clinic traditional management system may lead to customer

dissatisfaction. The adoption of modern management system, significantly enhances efficiency,


effectiveness, and patient satisfaction.

The objective of the study is to identify and address the gaps by conducting thorough

analysis of the operation at Cendaña Dental Clinic. By identifying the reliance on traditional

management system. The research emphasizes the significance of incorporating modern

technology to improve handling appointment scheduling and reminders to reduce no-shows and

last-minute cancellations and operational effectiveness. The result of the investigation is expected

to not only benefits dental clinic owner and staff but also contribute to the broader enhancement on

appointment system in dental clinic

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The major objective of the study is to improve the efficiency of appointment scheduling,

reminders and implementing strategies that reduce time and effort both patient and clinic staff. The

study aims to:

 assess the current method for scheduling appointments and reminder process in the

Cendaña Dental Clinic;

 determine the patient’s preferences for scheduling appointments and reminder methods;

 identify communication challenges faced by patients and clinic staff; and

 initiate suggestion to optimize scheduling appointment, facilitate communication, and

implement strategies to reduce time and effort;


SCOPE OF THE STUDY

The study will focus on streamlining patient appointments at Cendaña Dental Clinic located

at F. Llamas St. Punta Princesa Cebu City.

 The study will be conducted over a period of 9 months, starting from February 2024.

 Assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of modern appointment compared to traditional

methods in dental clinic.

 The research study employs interviewing methods to collect data from the company owner

and staff, utilizing an open-ended questionnaire designed specifically for this purpose.

 Data will be collected through interviews, and analysis of historical appointment data.

 The study does not include an assessment of the financial impact of the dental clinic.
