CHAPTER I

PRELIMINARY

1.1 Background

According to research conducted by Rita Prasetyowati in 2012, in her research it was

revealed that the 2012 structure, in her research, was revealed that the crystal structure has 2
lattices, namely the crystal lattice and the reciprocal lattice. If a crystal has 2 lattices, namely
the crystal lattice and the reciprocal lattice. If a crystal is irradiated with x-rays, a dipractic
pattern will be produced which is irradiated with x-rays, a dipractic pattern will be produced
which is a reciprocal lattice map of the crystal. , then a dipractic pattern is produced in the
form of a reciprocal grid. If something is real, then a dipractic pattern is produced in the form
of a reciprocal grid. If a crystal consists of atoms arranged regularly and periodically in a
crystal consists of atoms arranged regularly and periodically in space and the distance
between atoms is almost the same as the wavelength of x rays, the space and distance
between atoms is almost the same as the length x-ray waves, then the crystal can function as
a lattice that scatters light. Then the crystal can function as a lattice that scatters light.

X-rays have a wavelength that is close to the distance between light rays. X-rays have a
wavelength that is close to the distance between atoms, so diffraction can occur when
crystals are hit by atomic x-rays, so diffraction can occur when crystals are hit by x-rays.
Thus, the reciprocal lattice which contains the reciprocal lattice which contains the
discussion regarding x-ray diffraction.
