Configuration of HiMSEN DF ECS

 MCP (Main Control Panel)


MCP is the central control unit of ECS with integrated main controller which controls main
control function of engine and safety module which shutdown the engine independently from
main controller. MCP is mounted on the engine and connected to all instruments on engine.

• Main control of DF engine


• Engine safety control
• Independent engine shutdown control

 ICM (Injection Control Module)


ICM is mounted on the engine and connected to gas admission valves, pilot FO injectors and
knock sensor on each cylinder.

• Driving gas admission valve


• Driving micro pilot injector
• Measurement & process of knock signal and transmit data to MCP for control
• Drive high pressure pump for pilot injection

 CMM (Cylinder Monitoring Module)


In HiMSEN DF Engine, combustion of individual cylinder is controlled for more efficient and
stable operation. For this matter of fact, CMM monitors both combustion characteristics and
knock intensity of each cylinder and communicates this information with MCP for control and
monitoring.

• Measurement of cylinder pressure signal


• Calculation of combustion characteristics and knock intensity
• Transmission of data to MCP for control
• On / Off line analysis of combustion data via PC

 LOP (Local Operating Panel)


LOP is mounted on engine to offer operators the operation and monitoring of the engine. All
engine information and status can be monitored via HMI on LOP.

• Operation on engine through hardwired contacts


• Local display of engine measurement and status
• Trend display and logging
• Alarm/event display and handling
• Alarm/event logging
• Emergency stop button
• Test of actuators and valves in engine stop mode

 ACP (Auxiliary Control Panel)


ACP is installed in ECR as self-standing cabinet. ACP is in charge of not only GRU and CW
control but also interface with VCS, MSB and PMS via communication and hard-wire.

• Control of GRU & Cooling water valve


• Engine status indication via lamp
• Emergency stop button
• Interface with VCS
• Interface with MSB, PMS

 Power Distribution
Redundant power is supplied from UPS and with combination of a couple of DC/DC
converters and diode module, system availability is increased against one power source
failure.

 Communication
Redundant communication line between all system provide high availability at any fuel mode
against CAN communication failure.

Maintenance of ECS

 General
All electronic equipment is static-sensitive, some components more than others. To protect
these components from static damage, must take special precautions to minimize or eliminate
electrostatic discharges. Follow these precautions when working with or near the controller.

 Panel Maintenance
Normally all panels does not require a special maintenance except cooling fan filter on cabinet
and cooling fan in main control unit. A faulty device in panel has to be replaced or repaired by
the supplier. Please see instruction manual for more detailed.

 Repair and Replacement


A faulty of damaged devices may only be repaired by supplier.
Replacement can be done by operator but SW version and parameter should be installed
after replacement. Please see instruction manual for more detailed.
