 3. INTRODUCTION

This manual explains each step of the installation of a PC system – Lyra MP-Reader II

4. EQUIPMENT REQUIRED/ SOFTWARE

Equipment: LYRA II
PC Type HP Compaq DC7800

Software: Windows XP SP3

 5. UNINSTALL OF PREVIOUS VERSION

1. Switch of the instrument and copy the file C:/Master/Lyra.ini to a backup destination.
2. Go to Start/Programs/Borland InterBase 2007 [instance =gds_db]/InterBase Server Manager [instance = gds_db]
3. Stop the InterBase Server (clicking on stop
status change to stopped)

4. Go to Start/Settings/Control Panel
5. Double-click on Add or Remove Programs
6. Remove the Lyra MP-Reader Driver Package

7. Remove the Cynove (usbscan) Image

8. Remove the previous Lyra MP-Reader pack (following the next steps)

9. Choose Custom and click on next

10. Select All and click on next

11. Do not select and click on next!!!

12. Select All and click on next

14. Click on Finish

15. When finished restart the PC

 6. INSTALLATION LYRA II
For the installation:

- Do not connect the USB plug of the Lyra II on the PC. You will be asked to do it after the installation of the drivers.

- Only the important windows are treated in this document.

6.1. Installation of the Windows XP SP3

Install the OS Windows XP according with the Procedure of the master installation H001371 “IP-H001371-02a-en.doc”. and
update to Windows XP Pro SP3

6.2. Installation of the pack Maestro 2.18 with InterBase 2007

Install the pack Maestro 2.18 with InterBase 2007 according with the Procedure “IP-Maestro_2_18.pdf”.

6.3. Installation of the pack LYRA MP-READER II

Follow the red arrows (choose the indicated buttons and files).

(Serial Number of connected Lyra MP-Reader)

6.4. Hardware Installation

Connect the USB wire of the Lyra II in the PC and start the instrument.

6.4.1. LYRA MP-Reader

The USB components (USB Camera + Lyra MP-Reader Port A and B) will be detected and installed automatically.
Example for an automatically hardware Installation:

Repeat this procedure for all components and restart the PC after the installation.

6.4.2. Installation of Firmware V5 Cynove Camera

 Execute usbcamv5.exe using the Windows’ Run command (Start/Run)

 Start the installation of the firmware of all connected Cynove Cameras by clicking Start

 If the firmware version is already 5 you don’t need to reprogram it (you will have a different screen)

 After installation of firmware, close the window, switch off PC and LYRA instrument then restart it again.

 Copy the Lyra.ini file back in the folder C:/Master/.

 The instrument is now ready to work.

 6.5. Hardware checks

It is necessary to check that the camera is correctly positioned concerning axes XZ (Service Manuel §5.3.4.1).

The blue lines A and B must be parallel to ensure that the "0" point of the head is correctly placed on the backlight.

If you change that, it'll be necessary to readjust the mechanical position of the MP's head (1) regarding the locking pin
(2) and restart the Camera adjustment (Service Manuel §5.3.4).

Restart PC and Instrument after calibration.
