Courageous Marion Cockle

A Short Story
by Untitled writer

Mike Nolan was thinking about Marion Cockle again. Marion was a courageous lover with
chubby ankles and brown eyebrows.

Mike walked over to the window and reflected on his sleepy surroundings. He had always
loved sleepy Los Angeles with its grotesque, gigantic gates. It was a place that encouraged
his tendency to feel confident.

Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the a courageous figure
of Marion Cockle.

Mike gulped. He glanced at his own reflection. He was an articulate, hilarious, port drinker
with feathery ankles and sticky eyebrows. His friends saw him as a mutated, manky
muppet. Once, he had even rescued a distinct owl from a burning building.

But not even an articulate person who had once rescued a distinct owl from a burning
building, was prepared for what Marion had in store today.

The clouds danced like bopping koalas, making Mike fuzzy. Mike grabbed a stripy sausage
that had been strewn nearby; he massaged it with his fingers.

As Mike stepped outside and Marion came closer, he could see the rotten glint in her eye.

Marion gazed with the affection of 2022 deranged high-pitched humming birds. She said,
in hushed tones, "I love you and I want Internet access."

Mike looked back, even more fuzzy and still fingering the stripy sausage. "Marion, I've got
a new job," he replied.

They looked at each other with stressed feelings, like two forgotten, flipping frogs jumping
at a very proud bar mitzvah, which had flute music playing in the background and two
energetic uncles sleeping to the beat.

Mike studied Marion's chubby ankles and brown eyebrows. Eventually, he took a deep
breath. "I'm sorry," began Mike in apologetic tones, "but I don't feel the same way, and I
never will. I just don't love you Marion."

Marion looked anxious, her emotions raw like a thundering, tall teapot.

Mike could actually hear Marion's emotions shatter into 7201 pieces. Then the courageous
lover hurried away into the distance.
Not even a glass of port would calm Mike's nerves tonight.
