DOOR DUTY CYCLE

DEFINITIONS
• Useful life of a system is its expected duration under normal operation before it shows obsolescence or wearing that needs safety
components substitution.
• Average car door cycles per year are estimated average usage for that type of product in its typical application (e.g. 2000 B doors in
residential or offices applications, 2000 HD in heavy industrial environment etc.)
TEST CONDITIONS
Endurance tests are made in laboratory, where car and landing doors are coupled to simulate real installations. Please note that:
Adjustments are made according to the installation manuals.
Data shown are indicative. Number of cycles per year strongly depends on the destination of the elevator (residential, commercial etc.)
and therefore useful life can change accordingly.
Door cycles per year are empiric, based on field experience.
Furthermore, components wearing is strongly affected by the quality of installation (following the best practices indicated in the
installation manuals) and installation conditions (such as environment type, humidity etc.).

Note: to have a better idea of number of cycles, 200.000 cycles mean 1 cycle every 160 seconds if considering day and night operation or 1 cycle every 80
seconds if considering a daily operation.
