Assignment 1: Specification Sheet and Defect Analysis

Task Details:
​ Selection of Garment/Product: Group of 2 students is required to choose a handcrafted
garment or product of their preference. It could be any apparel item or product that is
handcrafted.
​ Specification Sheet Creation: Create a detailed specification sheet for the chosen
garment or product.
​ Identifying Defects: Analyze the chosen garment/product for identifiable defects.
Document these defects systematically, describing their nature and severity.
​ Rectification Suggestions: Based on the identified defects, propose suitable rectification
measures. This could involve suggesting alternative construction methods, materials, or
alterations in the production process to mitigate or eliminate the defects.

Assignment 2: Quality Standards in the Textile/Apparel

Industry
Task Details:
​ Selection of Company: Choose a company operating within the textile or apparel
industry that is known for setting high-quality standards. Investigate and elaborate on how
the company establishes these standards.
​ Garment Selection: Select a different garment from the one chosen in Assignment 1. This
garment should be relevant to the company selected and should exhibit varying quality
aspects.
​ Zone-wise Defect Analysis: Divide the chosen garment into zones (e.g., seams,
stitching, fabric quality, embellishments, etc.). Conduct a thorough analysis of each zone,
identifying defects present within them.

● Both assignments should be done in Groups of 2
● Date of Submission for both the assignments is 4th April 2024
● Mode of submission is Doc and PPT
