Nike Externship: Retail at Nike

I have been an athlete my whole life. Whether it was playing soccer, football, volleyball,
or running track; I have always been out on the turf. While competing in these sports, I would
only wear one pair of shoes. Shoes that made me feel like lightning racing across the field. Shoes
that felt weightless and made me perform to the best of my ability. These shoes, cleats, and
spikes were made by Nike. Nike was the center of my universe growing up. Wearing everything
from shoes and socks all the way to sweatshirts and hats. If it was Nike, I most likely owned it
and that style has never gone away. But growing up now, I am realizing that Nike isn’t just a
clothing brand, but it’s a way to connect with many different people around the world. I see Nike
working with indigenous tribes around the world, low incoming communities, and many
different socio-economic groups making sure everyone can experience Nike. Learning about this
and the mission that Nike is on has inspired me to want to be a part of it. Bringing people
together and making connections that can make the world a better place. Exchanging ideas on
how to be successful and to support not only others but also the company. No where else has the
same work atmosphere that Nike brings to its employees and customers. To be given this
opportunity to participate in this externship would be a great privilege. Learning from the best on
how to evolve as a business professional and to adopt different techniques to make myself and
others around me victorious. With pursuing a degree in business and more specifically an
emphasis in Marketing, this externship can point me on the right path on what kind of
businessman I want to be. And with the skills that I have obtained while in college, I can bring
new insights and ideas to Nike. I appreciate your consideration in this position and hope to
represent the swoosh soon!
