INTRODUCTION
The technical report presented below, has as a purpose to make know the Navigation aid
equipment that are located on the M/T Ambrielle bridge, giving a brief concept and knowing
visually.
Relate to the information of report, we can say that on the chapter I, the justification,
On the Chapter II, They are given to know the main concepts of the equipment’s to assist
in Navigation, located on bridge, to give compliance with the established in SOLAS Convention
(Safety Of Life At Sea) and the international Regulations to prevent collisions at Sea
(COLREG).
Finally in the chapter III, the conclusions, findings, and bibliographic references of the

The Global Position System (GPS), it’s a navigational System that works with 24
satellites, providing the actual position in three dimensions, speed and time through coordinates,
the 24 hours a day, in anywhere in the world, and in all climatic conditions. The GPS indicate
On Board of the M/V Ambrielle we have 2 GPS (the main GPS it is located in the
bridge’s console, while the secondary it is located in the chart room). The GPS are FURUNO
model GP – 170, with color scream of 5,7”, with a position update system of every 0.1 second.
Additionally, this equipment allow record routes determined by a different waypoint (WP),
calculate the ETA (Estimated Time of Arriva) to the next port or WP, and in turn, it allows us to

The RADAR (Radio Detection and Ranging) works with a System of radio waves, like
acoustic waves, are reflected by objects (that are out of the sight of the seaman) that come in
their way and determine the distance to which the radio waves are being projected an those
objects.
The RADAR screens show the presence and the movement of objects outside the reach of
the view, which is useful in Navigation. The electronic equipment records the behavior of radio
waves projected by the vessel. The waves that do not collide with any object are dispersed, while
those reflected denoting the shape and position of the objects in the sweep field.

On board of M/T Ambrielle exist one Doppler Speed Log FURUNO, model DS-800 and
one Speed Log Repeater FURUNO, model RD-33. It’s an instrument that measures the speed
and distance browsing through the ship. It’s a small propeller placed in the double walls of the
ship and in a position as close as possible to the keel, and in the middle zone of the length (it is
situated so that in this way the propeller looks at least affected possible to the spoils and motions
of the vessel); the propeller it’s connected to a spin accounts, and when that knocks his pass, it
These electric logs are composed of the following parts; the propeller, that it’s moves
through the action of the by hit against its blades in the advance of the vessel; an instantaneous,
which relates the time elapsed with the distance traveled in order to obtain the instantaneous
speed; the totalizer, it’s used to record the number of revolutions given by the propeller (allows
reading the distance browsing in nautical miles); and finally an electric transmissions system,
also known as repeaters, which allow to carry the instructions of the instantaneous or the totalizer

Onboard exist one Navigational Echo Sounder FURUNO, model FE-800 and one Echo
It’s a device that measures the depth of water from the Vessel under the keel.

Barometer
On bard exist one Barometer, BAOPING model DYM3. It’s a device used to measured
atmospheric pressure.
Azimuth Circle
