Photography allows you to capture memories, stories, and different perspectives. Learn the reasons why
photography is important.
The purpose of photography is to communicate and document moments in time. A photo freezes a moment,
which leads to a story of the person, environment, animal, or landscape. Studies show that taking pictures
improves your visual memory of an experience. Aside from memory, photography can be educational. You can
learn about history and document critical events.
Pre-Reading
1. Session’s objective (Catch Up Friday objective) via PPT
a. enrich vocabulary,
b. learn new words and expressions/idioms,
c. improve comprehension,
d. enhance creativity and imagination,
e. reflect and develop deeper understanding of the text;
f. promote the use of language; and
g. write captions
2. Ask learners why do they take photos?
During Reading
1. Form 10 Groups.
2. Let each group to discuss with themselves the 10 Reasons Why Photography Is Important.
3. Allow groups to go outdoors and have a book reading photoshoot following the given guides and
criteria.
4. 20 shots shall be taken.
5. After the shoot, groups shall be given time to edit their photos, and produce a video.
6. Captions shall be seen in the video. (quotes, storylines, expressions, idioms, etc.)
7. Present outputs in the class.
