Going to Affirmative
Use
• To state plans and predictions with evidence.
Structure
• subject + verb to be + going to + verb in original form
Examples
I am going to travel next week.
Look at those clouds! It is going to rain.
Going to Negative
Use
• To state plans and predictions with evidence in a negative form.
Structure
• subject + verb to be + not + going to + verb in original form
Examples
I am not going to travel next week.
Look at that blue sky! It is not going to rain.
Going to Interrogative
Use
• To ask and answer questions about plans and predictions with evidence.
Question Structure
• verb to be + subject + going to + verb in original form
Response Structure
• yes + subject + verb to be
• no + subject + verb to be + not
Examples
Are you going to travel next week? Yes, I am.

Use

predictions without evidence in a negative form.

Use
• To ask and answer questions about promises, spontaneous decisions, warnings,
threats, and predictions without evidence.
Question Structure

Response Structure
• yes + subject + will
