I come from Myanmar, which ranks second-to-last globally in environmental protection.

Born in a
farming community in a dry zone, I have witnessed firsthand the environmental challenges that affect
farmers and their livelihoods. To address these issues, I have pursued a Master of Engineering in
Environmental Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and Royal Melbourne
Institute of Technology University (RMIT).
UNSW's curriculum offers practical industry training and courses like "Environmental Microbial
Processes" and "Environmental Chemical Processes," which will enhance my ability to apply theoretical
knowledge to real-world situations. RMIT's focus on environmentally friendly urban planning and
electives like "Urban Ecology" and "Advanced Technologies for Wastewater Reclamation" align with my
goal of promoting sustainability in my community.
Furthermore, learning from experts like Dr. Margaret Ruth Fisher, a Senior Lecturer in Environmental
Engineering at UNSW, who specializes in sustainability and environmental engineering related to
wastewater treatment and biosolids processing, will provide me with specialized knowledge in this field.
Overall, pursuing a Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering at UNSW and RMIT will equip
me with the skills to address environmental challenges, particularly in natural resource management and
wastewater treatment. This degree will enable me to turn theoretical knowledge into real-world solutions
and connect with the global ecological engineering community.
