Republic of the Philippines Department of Education REGION III-CENTRAL LUZON REGIONAL MEMORANDUM No. 228s, 2024 2024 REGIONAL FESTIVAL OF TALENTS (RFOT) To: Schools Division Superintendents Assistant Schools Division Superintendents Curriculum Implementation Division Chiefs Education Program Supervisors School Heads/Administrators of Public/Private Elementary and Secondary All Others Concerned 1. In line with the MATATAG Agenda, particularly focused on “Taking care of learners by promoting learners’ well-being, inclusive education programs, and ensuring that all learners, regardless of background, have access to quality learning opportunities and services,” this Office through the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD), shall conduct the 2024 Regional Festival of Talents (RFOT) with the theme, Galing, Talino, at Husay ng mga Batang Makabansa sa Diwa ng MATATAG na Adhika at San Fernando Elementary School, City of San Fernando, Pampanga on May 20-22, 2024, where May 20 is Day 0. 2. As enshrined in Republic Act (RA) No. 10533 titled, An Act Enhancing the Philippine Basic Education System by Strengthening Its Curriculum and Increasing the Number of Years for Basic Education, Appropriating Funds ‘Therefore and for Other Purposes and DepEd Order (DO) No. 021, s. 2019 titled, Policy Guidelines on the K to 12 Basic Education Program, consistent with the DepEd goal of producing functionally literate and holistically developed, all RFOT events are aligned with the essential learning competencies and standards of the K to 12 curriculum. 3. The 2024 RFOT aims to provide opportunities for learners from public and private elementary and secondary schools as well as those from Alternative Learning System (ALS), Indigenous People Education (IPED), Special Needs Education Program (SNEd), and Madrasah Education Program (MEP) to showcase their talents and skills. It also provides a platform for strengthening teachers’ and learners’ knowledge and skill sets as they listen to the invaluable insights shared by the panel of experts, 4. Participation in the 2024 RFOT is voluntary and shall not, in any way, affect the time-on-task of teachers as this activity’s target learning standards and competencies are already embedded in teachers’ actual classroom teaching and assessment process.
