I think that the title refer to the protagonists. Grace thinks that the others are the other
family, (Víctor and her parents) but the reality are that the others are himselves.

In this film the atmosphere to create are the fog, and the dark colours in the clothes.
Also the hold house, and the badly garden. In addition the housekeepers, that
transmitted a bad omen.

I think that the film is set in 1940.

I think that the Others is a film of the gothic fiction. The elements for create the
atmosphere in this film are a gothic elements, the phantoms, the strange personages, the
old house, etc.
Also I think is a Gothic film for your argument, full of surprises and intrigue.
It’s certain, that the terror films I don’t like it, and my knowledge is very poor respect
this subject, and for this reason my opinion isn’t important.
