Safety instructions concerning the use
of the tool ecaDIAG
The use of the MecaDiag tool is reserved exclusively for maintenance personnel with
the relevant training provided by Mecalac or a Mecalac-approved training provider.
In order to avoid accident risks, before connecting the tool to the machine’s diagnostic socket,
the maintenance technician must:
Park the machine on level ground.
Remove any tools mounted on the quick coupler.
Extend the attachment and leave it resting on the ground.
Downloading
Before carrying out any downloading:
Park the machine on level ground.
Remove the tool from the quick coupler.
Rest the attachment on the ground.
WARNING
Downloading the incorrect software can cause the tool or the oscillating axle to unlock or can
activate a function when switching on the ignition of the machine.
It is strictly forbidden to download the software of another machine model.
The downloading of any software must only be carried out as part of a change of control unit or an
update recommended by Mecalac.
After any downloading, the technician must test all machine functions before releasing the machine
to the driver.
Remote coding
After any remote coding, the technician must test all machine functions
before releasing the machine to the driver.
Warning! An incorrect remote coding of the quick coupler can activate
the unlocking.
Settings
After introducing any settings, the technician must test all machine functions
before releasing the machine to the driver.
Learning mode
After any learning routine, the technician must test all machine functions
before releasing the machine to the driver.
Actuator test
Before testing any actuator, the attachment must be extended and left to rest on the ground.
After starting the machine, the technician must test all machine functions before releasing
the machine to the driver.

of an icon on the desk.
Click on button « Next » (« Suivant »)
or otherwise click in the case
corresponding to « Icon on desk »
(« Icône sur bureau ») or « In start bar »
(« Dans barre de lancement »).

The installation process is over.
Click on button « Terminate »
(« Terminer ») to go on.
VERY IMPORTANT :
If your PC is connected to a
company intranet network with a
PROXY, it is mandatory to click
on « Yes » button to introduce the
parameters of the proxy. If not click
on button « No ».
NOTE :
If you have clicked on « No » despite
that you have a proxy, the MecadiagPC
will not be able to get the updates from
internet, and you will imperatively have
to click on the menu « Configuration ».

If you have clicked on « Yes » to the
question « Configure a proxy server »
(« Configurer un serveur proxy »), you
have to click in the square « Use the
system configuration » (« Utiliser la
configuration du système ») to cancel it.

Than the program can reach to internet
and get the last version updated of
embarked program in MecaDiag tool and
the program MecaDiagPC.

At the first installation of the program

MecaDiagPC on a computer, this window
comes on to declare the identity of the user
of the program.
This window may be opened with the menu
« Options / preferences » or with the
shortcut Ctrl + P to update the customers
data like a change in the address,
telephone, or logo for instance.
One click thumb index « New customer »
(« Nouveau Client ») shows the customer
list already available on the server which
permits to install the program several times
in a same company.
When the user a new customer is, he has
to fill the fields hereunder up than click on
button « Save » (« Enregistrer »).

If Vista presents this alert window : answer
« Install the driver even » (« Installer ce
pilote quand même »).

Affectation of the tool MECADIAG POCKET

REMARK :
This tool « MecaDiag Pocket » may be than
plugged to the PC program from another
customer to make an update of embarked
program, but it will appear as not belonging
to that customer.
NOTE :
During the update of the tool « MecaDiag
Pocket » ist display gets black and it shows
« loader » on the bottom right side.

The dialog box hereunder will appear, and
a click on « OK » will allow to close it.

General description
- ABS housing with protection sock.
- External dimensions 200 x 95 x 47 mm.
- ¼ VGA graphic display with backlight (256 colors including 16 for the MMI).
- User interface with keyboard and thumbwheel navigation.
- USB communication port for use with a PC computer.
- 1 Cable 1,5 m long connection to the diagnostic connector of the machine.
(Cable used for communication and power).
- 2 ports for voltage measurement on the board (function «voltmeter»).
Specifications
- Supply directly through the diagnosis connection to the machine.
- Voltage Range: 7V to 36V.
- Average consumption: <200mA / 12V & <150 mA / 24V
(without connection of optional sensor).
- Use temperature: -20 ° C to +70 ° C.
Function «Voltmeter»
The reference voltage (ground vehicle battery) is directly taken at the diagnostic
connector of the machine.
The operator works easily:
- The controller in one hand, the probe in the other.
- Voltage Range: 0V - 36V / 250mV Accuracy (-20 ° C & 70).
- Display Min., Max. and average.
- Graphic Display «Trace».
- Possibility to improve the accuracy to + / - 30 mV (between 18 & 28 ° C) or + / -100 mV
(-20 & 70 ° C) with the use of the 2nd socket (V2) to take a more precise ground than
the one of the power supply of the tool.
