B. Performance Standards concept, rich context problems using concepts from electromagnetic waves,
optics, relativity, and atomic and nuclear theory.
 Identify the factors that affect the magnitude of the induced emf and
the magnitude and direction of the induced current.
(STEM_GP12EMIVa-1)

non-electrostatic/induced electric field. (STEM_GP12EMIVa-3)
 Calculate the induced emf in a closed loop due to a time-varying
magnetic flux using Faraday’s Law. (STEM_GP12EMIVa-4)
C. Learning Competencies  to explain the concept of electromagnetic induction and
Faraday's Law.
 identify factors that affect the magnitude of the induced
current.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or Pre-Activity
presenting the new lesson  Greetings of Magalang bow:”Magandang buhay, Mabuting Tao
 Prayer
 Classroom rules

Review of Previous lesson:

1. what relationship exists between the changing magnetic field and the
induced current in a conductor?
2. How does the strength of the changing magnetic field affect the
induced current?
B. Establishing a purpose for the Imagine a world without electricity: No lights, no phones, no computers!
lesson What do think will happen?
Faraday's Law is the foundation for how generators work, which is how we
get most of our electricity.
C. Presenting examples/instances Lets get Virtual: Faradays electromagnetic lab

D. Discussing new concepts and Activity 1: Magnetic Flux Experiment
practicing new skills #1 Materials - Magnets, coils, ammeter
Instructions -
1) Place a coil near a magnet and measure the induced current with the
ammeter.
2) Increase the strength of the magnetic field and record the corresponding
changes in the induced current.
3) Analyze the data to understand the impact of magnetic flux on induced
electromotive force.
Rubric - Accuracy of data interpretation - 15 pts.
Assessment Questions:
1) How does the number of magnetic field lines passing through a coil affect
the induced current?
2) How does the movement of the magnet affect the induced current?
3) Explain the role of Faraday's Law in this experiment.
4) What factors can influence the strength of the induced current?
E. Discussing new concepts and TEACH TALK
practicing new skills #2 Introduce Faraday's Law, which states that the magnitude of the induced
EMF (electromotive force) in a conductor is proportional to the rate of
change of the magnetic field through the conductor.
Explain the concept of EMF as the potential difference (voltage)
induced in the conductor. You can use an analogy of water pressure to
explain the concept of EMF.
F. Developing Mastery Explain the scenario below:

A moving magnet induces a current in a nearby coil of wire. However, when a

stationary magnet is placed next to the same coil, no current is induced.
Explain this difference using Faraday's Law and propose two design
modifications to the coil that could potentially induce a current even with a
stationary magnet.
G. Finding practical application It's important to remember this is a metaphorical connection. Faraday's
concepts and skills in daily Law itself doesn't have a direct role in achieving gender equity.
living
But here are some areas in science and technology directly related to physics
that can contribute to a more equitable world:

Engineering solutions to address gender-specific challenges: This could

involve designing assistive technologies for women facing physical
limitations or developing medical devices that cater to women's health
needs.

Increasing female representation in STEM fields: Encouraging girls'

interest in physics, engineering, and other scientific fields can lead to more
women developing groundbreaking technologies and contributing to diverse
solutions in various sectors.
