MATHEMATICS FOR BUSINESS

Information
• The final exam is 90 minutes + 5 minutes reading time.

• Format: The exam consists of 5-6 written questions.

• Content: Everything that is listed in the syllabus with the slight bias towards the sec-
ond half of the semester (i.e. Calculus of several variables & Linear Algebra & Linear
Programming). Note that simple algorithms are non-examinable this semester.

• Students are allowed two A4-sized, double-sided, hand-written formula sheets in the exam.

• Note that students are not allowed to share formula sheets during the exam.

Advice for Preparation

Students are encouraged to do the following

• Read the lecture slides.

• Review the examples that have been done in lectures. Do similar examples in the textbooks.

• Do the exercises uploaded on e-learning at the start of the semester.

• Do the group assignment. Questions asked in the exam will be of similar type to those
asked in the group assignment.

• The final exam aims to cover almost every topic discussed during the semester. Thus, if
you are ignoring a certain topic, you are doing so at your own risk.

• Study in groups.
