A1 - Lektion 27 - Possessive Articles in Accusative
Hello everyone and welcome to our video series on learn German for beginners. In
the previous lesson, we learned the various accusative articles. In this lesson we'll
be learning the possessive articles in Akkusativ. You can watch the previous video to
learn more about what is Akkusativ and what are the various articles in Akkusativ.
Let's begin:
Lektion 27
Possesivartikel im Akkusativ
If you want to revise Possesivartikel im Nominativ you can watch lesson 24. Now
let's do a few sentences to understand them.
Now, let's analyse. Ich in this sentence is the Nominativ Subjekt, whereas, meinen
Mann is the Akkusativ Objekt. And as we have learned, when the Akkusativ Objekt is
masculine, the article changes from ‘ein’ to ‘einen’. In this case, from ‘mein’ to
‘meinen’.
Let's see what happens when the Akkusativ Objekt is with article ‘das’.
Das ist mein Auto.
Ich liebe mein Auto.
In this case, since the article of Auto is ‘das’ the possessive article remains ‘mein’.
With the help of the structures we just learned, try to answer these questions.
And now, let's summarize all the Possesivartikel im Akkusativ in a table. The only
difference in the Possesivartikel im Akkusativ is for the masculine pronouns.
‘mein’ changes to ‘meinen’
‘dein’ to ‘deinen’
‘sein’ to ‘seinen’
‘ihr’ to ‘ihren’
‘unser’ to ‘unseren’
‘euer’ to ‘euren’
Do notice the spellings here.
‘ihr’ to ‘ihren’
And once again,
‘Ihr’ to ‘Ihren’
