As we continue our journey, we reaffirm our commitment to
upholding the principles of justice and empowering communities in
need. We look forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie

Head of Inter-Ministerial Delegation Welcomes
Human Rights Activists in France
On May 10th, Alain Régnier, the head of the Inter-
Ministerial Delegation for the Reception and
Integration of Refugees in France, welcomed 14
human rights activists from around the world to a
luncheon at the building of French Ministry of the
Interior.
Advocate Shahanur Islam, a prominent Bangladeshi
human rights activist and lawyer, was among the
attendees, as the first and only winner from
Bangladesh of Marianne Initiative for Human Rights

Professor Dr. Philippe Benoit
Prominent Bangladeshi human rights activist and
lawyer advocate Shahanur Islam and French human
rights activist and Professor Dr. Philippe Benoit
attended a bilateral meeting in Paris to discuss
ongoing human rights violations in Bangladesh on
yesterday 5th May. The meeting was also attended

met with French criminal lawyer Clemence Witt
on May 9th at the office of Chavanne and Witt
Advocates in Paris.
Madam Clemence Witt is a renowned criminal
lawyer of the Paris Bar and partner at Chavanne
and Witt Advocates, while Mr. Shahanur Islam is
the founder secretary-general of JusticeMakers
Bangladesh and currently resides in France as
the laureate of the Marianne Initiative for Human
Rights Defenders, initiated by president of

the International Symposium held at
Sunderland University in England.
Advocate Shahanur Islam, a prominent human
rights lawyer and founder secretary general of
JusticeMakers Bangladesh, delivered a compelling
presentation at the "Safer-to-Be-Me" International
Symposium held at Sunderland University in
England. The symposium, jointly organised on June
22 by the international human rights organization
