ASSISTANT MANAGER SALES

JOB PURPOSE
Responsible under the general guidance and supervision of the ADOS, in coordination with the Sales Executives and within the
limits of established hotel policies and procedures, oversees and implements all sales activities in his/her specific area of
responsibilities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


 Implements all sales action plans related to his/her market areas as outlined in the marketing plan.
 Attends major travel functions (i.e. trade shows and promotional events) that deal specifically with his/her
market areas and advise ADOS with findings.
 Conducts daily sales calls and arrange familiarization/site inspection trips to hotels by corporate clients.
 Plans sales trip, under the direct approval of ADOS, to major markets, calling on accounts within his/her
specific market areas. Reports to ADOS on potential markets needing coverage and provides suggestions.
 Participates in daily & weekly sales & marketing meeting to share ideas or feedback on business improvement.
 Attends all pre-conference meetings, as required, arranged by the catering/conference department.
 Maintains a high level of exposure for the hotel in major market areas through direct sales solicitation,
telephone, fax, telex contacts written communication.
 Foresees the future development of responsible industries/fields and advises ADOS for future Marketing Plan.
 Demonstrates strong negotiation skill to maximize hotel profit in all revenue producing areas.
 Performs as a role model, provides training and development to Sales Executives for future growth
opportunity
 Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.
 Maintains comprehensive tracing system
 Closely follows up with all business leads, assigned project or duties and advise ADOS with job progress.
 Good command in writing & speaking English / Foreign Languages.
 Maintains the highest standards of professionalism and attitude towards all hotel Guests, clients, staff and
employees.
 Develops and maintains close working relationship with all departments throughout the hotel.
 Disseminates sales related information to other departments as appropriate.

Other:
To follow the principle that Guest is always right and that the Guest is Priority.
Guest preference to be given top most priority always.

To ensure to train all new staff on department SOP’s and to constantly re-train old staff to maintain the specified standard of
service.

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the
successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and
including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, this position requires to work in varying schedules to reflect the business
needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

Upon employment, you are required to fully comply with Accord rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of
the hotel’s facilities. Violating hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination
of employment.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following
supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based
upon the particular requirements of the hotel:

 Direct sales solicitation through sales visit, telemarketing and direct mail.
 Provides feedback on market conditions including competitor’s updates.
 Direct all sales activities of sales executives to ensure that they meet the goals of the marketing plan.
 Implements all sales action plans related to his/her market
 Attends daily morning department meeting.
 Attends daily & weekly Marketing Division Meeting.
 Meet with all influential clients and ensures that pre and post conference meeting are adapted.
 Assist in the execution on of site inspection trips to hotels by major clients.
 Attend major travel/trade as assigned.
 Establishes new corporate accounts.
 Performs sales related duties and any special project assigns.
 Promote and introduces leads for POS.
 Assist in implementation of effective sales systems and procedures that ensure efficient execution of all group
meetings and functions and provide for the efficient functioning of the hotel local sales efforts, overall.
 Provide effective communication and feedback in regards to client needs.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she
can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of
knowledge, skills, and abilities:

 Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
 Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
 Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
 Must possess basic computer skills.
 Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
 Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system when
applicable.
 Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and prepare complex reports

1. Experience:

Minimum two years Sales experience and two years of supervisory experience required.

2. Education

High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
