Finned Coil Technology
- The finned coil construction

The coil is constructed by inserting tubes

into pre-punched sheets of fin stock

After the tubes are inserted into the fin

stack, they are internally expanded in
order to achieve required heat transfer

AHE heat exchanger area is mainly

comprised of the fin area

Finned Coil Technology
- The main components in a finned coil ACHE
• The finned coil air cooled heat exchanger is built up by a header, tubes and fins which
forms the pressure vessel
• Air flowing over the tube bundle is regulated by the fan motor
• The headers distributes the medium into the tubes of the ACHE
• The number and size of fans, tubes and passes is optimized to the duty

A Few Benefits
- Benefits with Alfa Laval Finned Coil ACHE

• When external water supply is limited or of

insufficient quality
• When there are environmentally concerns of
high outlet water temperatures
• Avoid expensive costs for make up water and
cooling tower maintenance (risk of legionella)
• Product benefits:
– Standardized product range
– Light & easy installation
– Short delivery times
– CAPEX versus finned tube technology
