This 50-hour program prepares a
student for an entry-level
position in the field of vision
healthcare. Ophthalmic
assistants are essential team
members in any vision clinic.
Specially trained to support
ophthalmologists, they perform
many day-to-day tasks, such as
taking patient histories,
administering routine eye exams,
performing ocular measure-
ments, and patient education. In
this program, students learn
anatomy and physiology of the
eye and diseases, general
principles of pharmacology;

State Tested Nurse Assistant
(STNA)
This 13-day course combines
academic, hands-on classroom
instruction and 16 hours of
clinical experience. Students
will train to assist nurses by
performing functions related to
basic nursing skills and activities
of daily living, such as personal
hygiene, dressing, and feeding
residents and patients. Students
who successfully complete the
training are eligible to take the
Ohio Department of Health
Nurse Aide exam. Once a
student successfully passes the
state test, they are placed on
the nurse aide registry and
qualify to work as a State Tested
Nursing Assistant in long-term
care facilities, home care,

Five White Tigers Martial Arts
Five White Tigers Martial Arts (FWTMA) was
founded in 1987. In 2011, FWTMA partnered with
Activities Beyond the Classroom (ABC), a 501(c)
(3) non-profit organization that is responsible for
after school activities within the Cincinnati Public
School (CPS) system. This partnership would set
the foundation for an after school martial arts
program for some CPS students that has continued
to grow stronger.
Martial arts are a union of mind, body and spir-
it. Five White Tigers Martial Arts has brought these
three elements into a comprehensive opportunity
that develops, feeds and nurtures these elements
in one cohesive program.

Languages (ESOL) Classes

Aspire English (ESOL) classes are free to adult students who need to improve English skills in order to
prepare for college or an adult certificate-training program or to get a better job. Classes include practice
in speaking, reading, listening, and writing.

Consistent classroom attendance is required. Students must be at least 19 years old to attend.

Before starting ESOL classes, all students must attend a registration.

The Adult Diploma Program (ADP) provides job training and a different pathway for adults to earn a high
school diploma and an industry credential aligned to one of Ohio’s in-demand jobs.

This program is open to adults 20 years old or older who can prove Ohio residency and who have not
earned a high school diploma from any state or country.

Aspire High School Equivalency (HSE) Classes

Aspire HSE classes are FREE to
adult students who need to
prepare for a High School
Equivalency test (GED® or
HiSET®), get ready to go to
college or an adult certificate-
training program, gain
employment, or enhance
workplace skills.
Classes are offered at many
convenient locations.
Before starting HSE classes,
all students must attend an
information session at one of
our convenient locations.
