9-Week Goal
Strategy: Attend PLC/Planning meetings regularly to ensure the presence of differentiation and
acceleration. Begin the year with a campus data meeting to identify targeted support areas.
Strategy 1 Description: Request campus PLC schedules along with conference periods. Attend based on
targeted needs. Look for evidence of differentiation and acceleration in LPs. Add activities as
needed.
Strategy: Model differentiation strategies in tiered classrooms
Description: Using LPs as a guide, identify times and dates where modeling would be
Strategy 2 appropriate. Give the teacher receiving modeling an observation reflection form. Debrief
during coaching cycles.
Strategy: Complete regular observations/coaching cycles
Description: Identify data-based needs and put teachers in tiers. Divide and conquer using
Strategy 3 coaches as partners (using the Get Better Faster coaching model). Meet with coaches following
PLC/Planning to debrief coaching experiences and changing or maintaining of tiers.
Potential Roadblocks: Resistance from teachers and/or coaches, time management
Anticipate What can we do to mitigate impact?: Show teachers the benefit of the increase of meets and

Recommendations for time allocation to inform support schedule:

Weiss will plan to do a rotating schedule to attend every campus PLC/Planning (with 5th, 8th, and Biology a
priority) with Irvin as a back up.

Weiss/Designee will coach a maximum of 4 classroom teachers, and shadow/coach a maximum of 2


instructional coaches.

Irvin will coach a maximum of 3 classroom teachers.

Strategy: Build capacity in ICs from McMullan, Crenshaw, AJJH, CHS
Strategy 2 Description: Shadow coaching cycles with tiered teachers - at least once cycle per week.

Strategy: Model effective science lab instruction with the assistance of campus ICs
Strategy 3 Description: Specialist and/or Coordinator will lead at least one science lab on each campus
before benchmark 1.

Week Goal
Strategy: Shadow tiered coaches based on last year’s STAAR data.
Strategy 1 Description: Shadowing will include working through at least 2 coaching cycles with identified
ICs before the first snapshot. This includes preconference, observation, and post conference.
Strategy: Attend PLC/Planning meetings regularly to insure impact of identified tiered ICs is
effective in data disaggregation, intervention and acceleration identification, and lesson
Strategy 2 planning.
Description: Attend based on targeted needs. Look for evidence of IC impact. Debrief with
campus IC.
Strategy: Ensure usage of district HQIMs.
Description: Specialist meets with every campus IC to go over district- and campus-purchased
Strategy 3 materials to make sure district materials are being used with fidelity. Follow up with the
Coordinator.
Potential Roadblocks: Coach resistance possible but not expected overall. Scheduling conflicts
