ACADEMIC SESSION: 2022-23
Planner No: 01 Week No: 18 Date: 1st October,2023

Developed by: Ms Kanwal Reviewed by: Taught by: Ms Kanwal

Subject: Mathematics Class: VI Time: 40 mins

Sub-topic: Introduction of
Unit No: 8 Topic: Linear Algebraic
linear algebraic equation
Title: Linear Equations Equation
Lesson Objective(s): At the end of the lesson ,
 Students will be able to recognise linear equation in one variable.
 Students will be able to construct linear equation in one variable.

Skilled Focused on:

• Recognize • Construct • Mental Maths
Resources:
• Board • Marker • Text Book • Flash card • Multimedia slides
Methodology: Prior Knowledge: (Recap, Brainstorming, Mind Mapping, etc.)
The teacher will ask students:
 What are algebraic expression? (Take some answers )
Then ask student to write algebraic expression for the statement :
 Sum of a number and 2 ( Invite any one student to write it on board) e.g “ x+ 2”
Teacher will ask students:
 What is variable in this expression?
 What is Constant in this expression?
After getting response teacher will announce the topic today we are going to learn about U:8
“Linear Algebraic Equations”
(a) Explanation: (Based on Cross-Curricular Links)
Teacher will ask student now consider the statement as “ Sum of a number and 2 is 5” . e.g.
x+2 = 5
 We write it with equal sign “=” and called it “Equation”.
 This means the value of one side is equal to the value of other side
Teacher will ask students:
 How many variables are there in this equation? (Answer: Only one variable , x)
 Identify maximum power or exponent of the variable in above equation. ( Answer
exponent of x is 1)
Teacher will tell student that equation, which contains a single variable with maximum power or
exponent 1is called linear equation in one variable. Teacher will explain few example through
multimedia slides. For example:
o x+2=5
o 2x + 4 = 10
o 3x – 2 = 15
o 6a + 3m = 8a + 2m
(b) Activity:
The teacher will:
 Divide the class in groups of 4 – 5 students each.
 Prepare flash cards before class with some statements written on them, for example:
 The difference of a number and 7 is 9. ( x-7 = 9)
 Twice of my age increased by 8 years is my father's age ( 2x+8= y)
 The sum of two numbers is 6 ( x + y = 6)

 The Product of 2 numbers is 15 ( xy = 15)
 The area of rectangle is 12 square meters. ( lb = 12 )
Wrap-up:
Teacher will go over to the main points of the lesson.

C.W:
Do Ex 8 Qno 1 ( i to v) page 121 on book.

H.W:
Do Ex 8 Qno 1 ( vi to viii) on book
AFL:
Above mentioned activity and CW.

Differentiation:
o Teacher will move around the class to facilitate slow learner if they need some guidance.
o Quick learners will give some extra task given on page 123 Qno1.
