The Indian Penal Code, 1860 deals with substantive law. It is a general law. Many provisions of the

INDIAN PENAL CODE

Code make clear that it will not affect special and local laws. ‘Text Book on the Indian Penal Code’
contains many tables, SmartArts, and charts. It contains many recent and landmark judgments. It is
relevant not only for students and aspirants for competitive exams but also advocates, judges, faculty
members, and other persons interested in the Indian Penal Code. The book contains eleven chapters.
The book also includes the solution to many problems pertinent to understanding the Code. It also
contains relations with other laws, especially with the POCSO Act. Lastly, the book contains many
objective questions that lucidly clarify the subject.

About the Authors

Dr. Krishna Murari Yadav is an Assistant Professor (Sr. Scale) at Law Centre -1,

Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, Delhi. He completed his LL.B. and Ph.D. from
Banaras Hindu University and his LL.M. from University of Delhi. He qualified for
JRF. During student life, he was a resident of Bhagwan Das Hostel, BHU and D.S.
Kothari Hostel, D.U. He was also selected for Assistant Professor by UPSC and Uttar
Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission. He served as an Assistant Professor
in Puducherry and Varanasi. His book ‘The Code of Criminal Procedure’ was published by an
international publisher, i.e. H.P. Hamilton. He had written many articles. He delivered lectures as an
expert in many Central and State universities. He was awarded ‘Sankay Gaurav – 2018’ and ‘Pratibha
Samman – 2022’ by Law School, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.

Mrs. Trapti Aggarwal is a practicing advocate in Delhi. She completed her LL.M.
from Banaras Hindu University. During this period, she was a resident of the BHU
hostel. She was selected for Trade Mark Examiner. She is pursuing Ph.D, from the
School of Law, Galgotias University, U.P. She has written many articles in reputed
national and international journals. She also presented papers in many national and
international seminars and conferences.
