DUN DEE
NORDO ACFT prohibited. Training flights are strictly PPR.

Warning:

AD is in the vicinity of Leuchars MATZ.

Birds are a constant hazard at Dundee. At high tide waders tend to roost on grass areas of the AD. Most of the
year the hazard is moderate but may become severe at short notice when large concentrations of migratory
birds pass throughout the area.

Bird scaring takes place regularly.

Pilots are warned of HEL activity in and out of Ninewells Hospital helipad situated just N of the 09 THR (345°T, 0.6
NM).

Pilots are warned that unauthorised ground-based laser lights have been directed towards ACFT in the vicinity of
the AD. All incidents should be reported immediately via the TWR to the AD Authority.

TWY C is restricted to ACFT with weight of 5.7t or less. The width of this TWY is 10.5m with asphalt surface.

RWY 09: Mast (49’ AGL - 100m N of THR 09) infringes the 1:10 obstacle protected surface projected from the
RWY centre-line.

Due to the constraints of the circuit, TCAS equipped ACFT should be aware that there is an increased chance of
TCAS events occurring whilst joining or flying within the visual circuit.

Because of rising high ground and a dense urban area, the view from the ATC Visual Control Room is restricted.
Local ACFT movements to the N of the AD are restricted.

Mobile jack up oil rigs are serviced at the Port of Dundee 3.4 NM E of AD MAX height 540’ and display red
obstruction lights. The number of rigs at this location can vary.

Parachute activity may take place at Errol AD. ATIS will include a warning when activity has been notified.
Aircrew are advised to remain well clear of the drop zone when notified as active and will be provided with
deconfliction advice by Dundee ATC when required or requested.

Pilots are to be aware of possible turbulence on both RWYs when the wind has a northerly component in excess
of 10 KT.

DME may unlock in sector 035°-057°.

GR OUND MOVEMENT
Park as instructed by ATC, usually under marshaller guidance.

Light ACFT shall be directed to the grass eastern light ACFT park where marshalling guidance may be provided.

Start-up requests are mandatory for all ACFT parked on the Main and Western Aprons.

Aircrew are to wear high-visibility jackets whilst on the aprons and movement areas.

Passengers should be escorted and supervised at all times whilst on the AD.

All ACFT parking on the aprons with a MTOW of 13t or less are requested to leave the ACFT with ‘Brakes Off’ to
enable towing.

R WY INCUR SION HOT SPOTS

HS1

Restricted view of C hold from Control Tower. No Guard Lights.

FLIGHT PR OCEDUR ES
Pilots should avoid overflying Nine-Wells Hospital (306°T, 1.2 NM from the AD).

RWY 09 DEP & RWY 27 ARR: Be aware of Moored Mobile Oil Support Vessels at MAX 525'.

Traffic Circuit

RWY 09 RH traffic circuit. Remain S of the RWY at all times.

Circuit height 1000’ AAL unless otherwise directed by ATC.

Circuits are to be flown in such a manner to avoid built-up areas in the vicinity of the AD whenever practicable.

Departures

To reduce conflict with traffic operating Leuchars MATZ, ATC may instruct VFR ACFT departing to the E to remain at
not above 1000’ until passing BROUGHTY CASTLE northbound.

Jet and turbine ACFT departing to the N are required to either climb straight ahead to 2000’ before setting course or
are to turn S off RWY heading and set course overhead not below 2000’. ATC will advise the preferred option
dependent on the traffic situation at the time.

Unless otherwise directed by ATC, VFR departures to the E from RWY 27 and VFR departures to the W from RWY 09
will be expected to depart the circuit from the down-wind leg. The down-wind leg in both instances is S of the
midpoint of the Firth of Tay.

To reduce traffic confliction VFR departures to the E from RWY 27 should leave the down-wind leg and follow the
South Bank of the Firth of Tay towards the estuary mouth and only turn N after passing abeam BROUGHTY CASTLE.

If for any reason flight over water is undesirable, inform ATC and an alternative routeing may be offered, subject to
traffic, which reduces or removes the need to overfly the Firth of Tay.
