Indeed, this will be a very good start for
all of us as we discuss the first module.

B. LESSON PROPER

Now, for the next table since you’ve

mentioned that doing some sport games
could help you reduce stress. So, who
can answer the table in there?

sports could be badminton,
swimming. Then for dual
sports skating and volleyball at
the beach. Then for team
sports, could be basketball and

with lots of sports.

4. Discussion
We will discuss the three big concepts in
our topic, namely: stress, physical activity
and individual/dual/team sports.

1. If you hear the word stress? What are

your thoughts?
I think mam, many problems?

For me mam, it may lead to

That’s good. depression.
When we say stress, it is a feeling of being
under abnormal pressure. This pressure can
come from different aspects of your day to
day life. Such as an increased workload, a
transitional period, an argument you have
with your family or new and existing
financial worries.
But, don’t you know that regular
participation in aerobic exercise has been
shown to decrease overall levels of tension,
elevate and stabilize mood, improve sleep,
and improve self-esteem. Even five minutes
of exercise can stimulate anti-anxiety
effects.

Tips to Manage Stress

a. Exercise

2. What is Physical Activity (PA)?

Wow, exactly!
Physical Activity (PA) is defined as any
bodily movement produced by skeletal
muscles that require energy expenditure.
There are two components to physical
activity that needs to consider:
a. Aerobic fitness-this usually includes
moderate to vigorous activity that makes
you feel a bit warm, causes your
breathing to increase and your heart rate
to increase.
b. Strength and balance- this is often the
forgotten component of physical
activity, but it is an essential part and
has many benefits.

Physical activity may include:

 Active recreation
 Sports participation
 Walking/Cycling
 Play
 Dancing/Gardening

3. There are certain sports, such as golf,

bowling, and tennis that, for the most part, are
considered individual sports, which are sports played
alone without teammates. A sample of the thousands of
individual sports includes: badminton, bowling,
boxing, cycling, figure skating, golf, surfing,
swimming, track and field and wrestling.

Types of Sports
 Individual- only one (you)
 Dual- played by two people opposing each
other (e.g. badminton, tennis, archery, dance &
etc.)
 Team- includes any sport where individuals are
organized into opposing teams which compete
to win (e.g. volleyball, basketball, softball &
etc.)
Participating in physical activities like in individual,
dual, or team sports is also considered vital for
maintaining mental fitness, and it can reduce stress.
Studies show that it is very effective at reducing
fatigue, improving alertness and concentration, and at
enhancing overall cognitive function. This can be
helpful when stress has depleted your energy or ability
to concentrate.

Knowing how to manage time properly and identify the

priorities associated with proper physical activities are
considered one ot the best remedies to fight and reduce
stress Yes mam, it is really important

recreation to divert attention
and to take a deep breath and
relax.

I discovered that there are a lot

of benefits in doing sports may
it be individual, dual or team.

As an individual, my
responsibility to manage one’s
stress is very important
especially in these trying times,
that we are still in pandemic.
Excellent! Yes, today we have learned
about how important is the role of physical
activity like sports in managing one’s stress.
