Method of Statement for installation of Electrical Conduit Pipe

Installation Work

1) Introduction:
This method of statement will be used as a guideline to carry out the installation of cable
ladder, cable pulling and cable termination.

2) Materials and Tools

1. PUVC Conduit Pipe and Fitting
2. Hand Saw
3. Pipe Cutter
4. Various Hand Tools

3) Work Procedure

3.1 Pipe Installer

 Installation of PVC for Electrical shall be done by trained personnel in the proper
handling and usage of applicable tools and equipment prior to start installation.
 PVC pipe installers shall assemble a trial joint with the same type of materials
and techniques to be used in the actual installation.

 3.2 Handling and Storage
 All pipes and fittings shall be inspected upon receipt at job site. If any defect or damage is
found, it shall be separated and will be subject for replacement.
 Loading and unloading of pipes shall be properly controlled
 Manual loading and unloading can also be done for small pipes.
 PVC pipes and fittings shall be stored out of direct sunlight in a building or under a cover
that allows free air circulation.
 PVC pipes shall be stored on level and flat ground which is free from stone and sharp
projection
 All supporting surfaces shall be free from sharp objects.

3.3 Assembly, Joining & Laying

 Before assembly, each pipes and fittings shall be examined from damages.
 Before work commence, conduct site survey on each floor working area.
 Supervisor to conduct tool box meeting to brief all workers for the safety matters and to
ensure all workers with full PPE.
 Mark out the started point of the conduit pipe and destination point of the conduit pipe on
the floor according to the approved drawing.
 Ensure that the works are carried out according to the approved drawing and method of
statement.
 Measure and mark up shuttering for the position of the boxes.
 Fix the boxes on their designated locations. Ensure that the Boxes are filled with the
polystyrene to prevent cement sediment to accumulated inside the boxes.
 First layer of reinforcing bar to be installed.
 Installed in situ conduits as per requirements, tie the conduits into the reinforcing bars.
Ensure that the maximum run of conduit between two boxes shall not contain more than

 three three (3) quarter bends. Ensure that the maximum run of conduits between boxes
shall not exceed 25m for straight runs. In any cases that the straight run of conduit will
exceed 25m, pull boxes shall be installed.
 Whenever necessary, nylon rope shall be pulled into the conduit run for future purposes.
 After installation of conduits, the second layer of reinforcing bar installation will proceed.
Ensure that all installed conduit shall be taken care off.
 Raise Request for inspection of Conduit Installation.
 Shutter closing and concreting will commence.
