Celecoxib has a COX-2 Specific Drowsiness, Gas or Weight gain, Dyspnea,
inhibitory activity. It inhibits the Bloating, Sore throat, Peripheral Edema,
conversion of arachidonic acid to Constipation Unusual bleeding or
prostaglandins while having no effect bruising, Loss of appetite,
on formation of prostaglandins that Jaundice
mediate normal homeostasis in GI
Tract, Kidney and platelets catalyzed
by COX-1.
- Prior to administering
assess patient’s Renal,
Hepatic and CV functions.
- Administer drug with food
or after meals if GI upset
occurs.
- Do not increase dosage,
only take prescribed dose.
