tell you about the historical and cultural Background of Da Nang city.

In national history, Da Nang is known not only as the largest port city in Central Vietnam
but also as a place associated with the expansion of Dai Viet many centuries ago.

Da Nang during the Trinh-Nguyen period and the Tay Son period became a fiercel
y contested area and witnessed fierce battles by the Nguyen army during the attack on Da
Nang and Dai Chiem gates. In 1797, Nguyen Anh's army led a large army to attack Da N
ang. Under the Republic of Vietnam, Da Nang was the second largest urban area in the S
outh.

Currently, Da Nang is a city with much potential for tourism development and is a
major tourist center of the country. Through a process of outstanding development, learni
ng European methods of building modern cities, Da Nang gradually rose to become the ci
ty with the highest development competitiveness index in the country, becoming a green
