1. Perform hand washing and wear the gloves
2. clean eyes with a sterile normal saline-soaked
cotton swab from the inner canthus to the outer
canthus
3. advise the child to look up at the ceiling
4. Fir fill the dropper and stand behind the child's
head
5. Expose the lower conjunctival SAC by placing
the thumb and finger of left hand at lower margin
of the eyelid and pressing downwards gently
towards the cheek

6. the medication drop should be installed onto the

outer 3rd of the lower conjunctival sack at the
prescribed number of drops
medication should not be installed on the
conjunctival SAC not directly on the cornea. The
first drop of the medication should be discarded
7. while installation of medication the dropper
should be hold one to two centimetres above the
eye
