SUBSEA SERVICES

The oil industry has always been a highly diverse environment with a multitude of skills required to
facilitate its delivery. Over the past few years however, there has been a subtle yet significant shift
from traditional skills to that of specialist disciplines. One such area is that of Subsea and
Deepwater developments

Delta Technology provides qualified engineering and inspection personnel to the worldwide oil &
gas industry and in tune with the changing demands of technology; we have provided our clients
with specialist subsea expertise.

FEED – Design – Engineering - Construction - Commissioning – Installation

Our highly skilled staff cover many aspects within Subsea Production Systems & Subsea
Construction, notably, Subsea Production Systems, Workover & Production Control Systems,
Marine Operations, Subsea Intervention and Offshore Completion Operations, having detailed
experience in the following areas:

Wellheads
X-mas Trees
Control Systems
Umbilicals
Risers
Subsea Structures
Manifold
Pipelines
Flowlines
Tie Ins

Having the proven ability to work across the entire lifecycle of a subsea project is a unique selling
point for Delta Technology. Our extensive & broad ranging expertise ensures that we only add
value across each step of the project. To deliver this technical capability effectively, we maintain a
computerised database of core disciplines experienced in the following key areas of the subsea
environment:

Conceptual/CAD Design
Structural Engineering

Subsea Project Profile

The projects mentioned give an insight into Delta Technology’s first and latest subsea projects

BP Angola (Block 18).

The project to develop six fields will be the first development in Angola's Block 18 and the first
BP-operated project in Angola. The fields Galio, Cromio, Paladio, Plutonio, Cobalto and Platina,
collectively known as Greater Plutonio, are located in water depths of 1,200 to 1,500 metres. The
development will consist of a single spread-moored floating, production, storage and offloading
(FPSO) vessel linked by risers to a network of subsea flowlines, manifolds and wells. BP has opted
for the wells to be tied back to a single riser tower set in a central location with a base scope of
43 wells. Stolt Offshore and Technip have won a share to jointly supply the subsea umbilicals,
risers and flowlines (SURF). The companies will install over
75km of 12in diameter insulated production, gas injection and
service flowlines, 103km of umbilicals as well as the 12 FPSO
mooring lines, 10 production manifolds and the riser tower. The
six fields were all discovered between 1999 and 2001. Together
the fields hold over one billion barrels, which the project aims
to produce at a rate of 220,000b/d. First oil is estimated for
2007.

Today, Delta Technology is an acknowledged supplier direct to

BP on this project. Working from their contractor’s office in
Nanterre, Paris, we provide essential engineering personnel such
as: Flowline Engineers, Material Engineers and Metallurgists.
Reporting straight to BP, Delta Technology also provides a team
of quality management and inspection personnel to review &
monitor vendors around the world, ensuring that BP procedures
and specifications for manufacturing and quality are adhered
too.

Tommeliten – Norwegian Sector, North Sea

Set in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea, south-west of Ekofisk,

the Tommeliten field is an 1100-tonne subsea structure which was
developed with six subsea trees on a single template in 73m of water.
Over a ten year period it produced over 11 billion cubic metres of
gas and 19 million barrels of oil from 1988 to 1998.

For Delta Technology, this high profile project was our first
venture into the advanced area of Subsea Engineering. For our
client Statoil, we provided construction supervision of the subsea
template at contractor’s facilities.

Furthermore, our project brief

encompassed the supply of personnel to
monitor the manufacturing of the pipeline,
the production of welding procedures
and monitoring of ‘real time’ radiography.
Offshore, during the installation phase,
Delta had the task of providing quality
surveillance services for the first Duplex
pipeline to be laid in the Norwegian sector
of the North Sea.
