Detailed Lesson Plan in TLE- Commercial Cooking/Cookery 7

Interpret Kitchen Layout

I. Objectives
At the end of discussion, the grade 7-curiosity students should be able to:
a. Identify the different kitchen symbols and layout.
b. Show understanding in the different kitchen symbols and layout.
c. Create kitchen design using kitchen symbols and layout.

II. Subject Matter/Content


a. Topic Name: Interpret Kitchen Layout
b. Reference: K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum – TLE Learning Module
c. Materials Needed: PowerPoint presentation, visual aids, ruler, pencil, cartolina and pentel
pen.

the importance of knowing the kitchen symbols
and layout.”

“Let us first define some important terms, who “sir!”
can read the meaning of work centers?”

“Yes EJ” “Work Centers – focused around major appliances


– refrigerator-freezer, range, or sink. These
centers make possible an orderly flow of activities
connected with food storage, preparation, cooking
serving, and clean-up.

“DETERMINING YOUR KITCHEN’S LAYOUT


Since the kitchen is one of the most active
work areas of the home, it is important to select
the right layout to complement your lifestyle
and taste. There are five primary kitchen layout
shapes - the U-Shaped, L-Shaped, Island, G-
Shaped, Corridor/Galley, and Single Wall
shapes. After learning about the work triangle
in the section "Understanding Basic Kitchen
Layout," you will now see how the work triangle
functions in each layout and the advantages
each layout offers.”

place to add an extra sink or an island grill.”
