AN ORDER REORGANIZING THE BARANGAY HEALTH EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM

(BHERT)

WHEREAS, one of the general welfare goals provided under Section 16 of Republic Act 7160 which
the local government units shall ensure and support, is the promotion of health and safety of the
populace/inhabitants;

WHEREAS, DILG MC No. 2020-023 enjoins all local government units (LGUs) to effectively intensify
information education campaigns against Coronavirus and implement programs, projects and services
that will promote the health and well-being of every Filipino;

WHEREAS, barangays are mandated to organize the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams
(BHERTs) at the minimum ratio of one team for every 5,000 population, and mobilize them to help
implement prevention and mitigation, preparedness and response measures for COVID and other
diseases;

WHEREAS, with the assumption of the barangay officials elected on October 30, 2023, there is a
need to reorganize the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERT)

NOW THEREFORE, I, _______________________________________, Punong Barangay of

vested in me by law do hereby order the following:

Section 1 a. Reorganization of the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) There is hereby
created ________ BARANGAY HEALTH EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAMS, tasked in managing all COVID 19
related health care needs, with the following composition:

Sec. 1 b. Functions of the BHERT. The BHERT shall have the following functions:
1. Refer barangay cases to proper authorities for immediate attention;
2. Inform authorities cases of possible outbreaks or observations for action;
3. Assist health authorities in giving information dissemination to barangay constituents;
 4. Attend to other functions as may be required higher authorities.
